Meet Trinity Marrow, a girl with an explosive secret whose hiding place has just been discovered…

Eighteen-year-old Trinity may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her gift is the reason she’s been in hiding for years in a compound guarded by Wardens—shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her to enhance their powers.

When Wardens from another clan arrive with reports that something is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to trust Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…

I’ll read anything from Jennifer L. Armentrout. I’m a big fan of her YA, new adult, and adult romances. So when I heard she would be releasing a book called Storm and Fury, set in the same world of the Dark Elements series, I was so excited! I really enjoyed TDE (at least, the two book I read in the series), and couldn’t wait to return back to this fantasy world of gargoyles, demons, and more. Plus, the hero is Zayne, who was part of the love triangle in the original series (we can guess who that heroine ended up with…). I ended up enjoying this start to a new series so much. I can’t wait to read more already!

Trinity may going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. She’s got a secret that she and her family are hiding that, if the demons found out about it, it would put her in grave danger. When a group of Wardens show up at the compound that she lives in, that’s when she meets Zayne, who is gorgeous, angsty, and has his own set of secrets as well. I really enjoyed both characters, both together and individually. I thought it was a great start to their romance and am hoping it develops more in future books.

The world-building is great, though of course I was already familiar with it, but it had been a long time so it was nice to be reminded of things. If you haven’t read TDE, you should have no problem starting with S&F. There’s action, romance, and freaking gargoyles in this book, so I highly recommend you give it a try!
