Series: Standalone

The Pre-Sloane Emily didn’t go to parties, she barely talked to guys, she didn’t do anything crazy. Enter Sloane, social tornado and the best kind of best friend—the one who yanks you out of your shell. But right before what should have been an epic summer, Sloane just… disappears. No note. No calls. No texts. No Sloane. There’s just a random to-do list. On it, thirteen Sloane-selected-definitely-bizarre-tasks that Emily would never try… unless they could lead back to her best friend. Apple Picking at Night? Ok, easy enough.Dance until Dawn? Sure. Why not? Kiss a Stranger? Wait… what?

Getting through Sloane’s list would mean a lot of firsts. But Emily has this whole unexpected summer ahead of her, and the help of Frank Porter (totally unexpected) to check things off. Who knows what she’ll find?

Go Skinny Dipping? Um…

Look at this cover!! It looks pretty awesome, and it’s Morgan Matson! I LOVED her debut, Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour, and I really really need to read Second Chance Summer (it’s just waiting for me on my shelves), so I’m definitely going to be reading this new book. The synopsis reminds me a bit of Maureen Johnson’s 13 Little Blue Envelopes with the to-do lists, but no matter! This book seems totally fantastic, and I’m so excited for it!

Here is the book jacket!

OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! IT’S HERE!!! The gorgeous cover for one of my most awaited book releases ever! *SPOILER* The cover has Raffe’s new wings!! *END SPOILER*

Read the exclusive excerpt here!

I absolutely cannot believe that World After is coming out (somewhat) soon! I actually despaired over whether this book would exist or not, because I didn’t hear anything about Susan Ee writing it up until a while ago. So thank goodness there’s a sequel, because there’s a KILLER cliffhanger at the end of book 1, Angelfall.

Angelfall is incredible. It’s one of my most favorite books ever, because it has the best characters and fantastic world-building. You should read it if you haven’t!

SO excited for more Penryn and Raffe. RAFFE!! ❤

Cover Reveal: Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams

Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams
Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams
Series: Lost and Found #3
Publication Date: September 16th 2013
Book 1: Lost and Found | My review
Book 2: Near and Far | My review

There’s tortured. And there’s Garth Black.

His life has been a constant carousel of tragedy and disappointment, including his love life. Of course, applying the term “love” to Garth’s conquests is a gross misuse of the word. Some people were made to give and accept love, and others weren’t. Garth Black redefines the “others” category. He’s made a vow that the day he meets a woman who could sucker him into falling in love will be the day he runs away.

Garth’s plan has one flaw. What happens when he’s already fallen hard for a girl before the warning signs and red flags go up? What happens when the love he’s avoided his entire life brings him to his knees? What happens when Garth Black lets the dirtiest four letter word he’s ever known into his dark, lonely life?

This cowboy’s about to find out he can control some things, and he can’t control others. Number one on the what he can’t control list?

Love.

AAAHHHHHH!!!! Look at this frickin’ gorgeous cover!! I love it!

I am a huge fan of Nicole Williams, both of her Crush series and her Lost and Found series. And I’m SO happy that she decided to write a book for Garth Black!! But… who’s the lucky lady who will win this dark boy’s heart? I honestly have no clue who she is, if we already know her (Josie, anyone?) or if she’s a new character. AH, it doesn’t even matter because I know I’ll LOVE his book! Can’t wait to read it!

Her forced marriage to Lord Gisbourne threatens Robin and Scarlet’s love, and as the royal court descends upon Nottingham for the appointment of a new Sheriff, the people of Nottingham hope that Prince John will appoint their beloved Robin Hood. But Prince John has different plans for Nottingham that revolve around a fateful secret from Scarlet’s past even she isn’t yet aware of. Forced to participate at court alongside her ruthless husband, Scarlet must bide her time and act the part of a noblewoman—a worthy sacrifice if it means helping Robin’s cause and a chance at a future with the man she loves. With a fresh line of intrigue and as much passion as ever, the next chapter in Scarlet’s tale will have readers talking once again.

Oh my gosh, how did I not know about this??? I can’t believe I didn’t know the second this book was releasing its cover and blurb. AHHH!!!

Scarlet was one of my favorite reads last year, and I was SO happy that the author was going to write not one, but TWO more books after Scarlet! Because Scarlet was freaking amazing, and I highly recommend it if you’re into fantasy, romance, and a badass heroine.

And yay! We get more Rob!!! *squeals*

The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith

The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith
Series: Standalone
Publication Date: April 15th 2014

Lucy and Owen meet somewhere between the tenth and eleventh floors of a New York City apartment building, on an elevator rendered useless by a citywide blackout. After they’re rescued, they spend a single night together, wandering the darkened streets and marveling at the rare appearance of stars above Manhattan. But once the power is restored, so is reality. Lucy soon moves to Edinburgh with her parents, while Owen heads out west with his father.

Lucy and Owen’s relationship plays out across the globe as they stay in touch through postcards, occasional e-mails, and — finally — a reunion in the city where they first met.

A carefully charted map of a long-distance relationship, Jennifer E. Smith’s new novel shows that the center of the world isn’t necessarily a place. It can be a person, too.

What an adorable cover! I just really love the covers for Jennifer E. Smith’s books. Anyway, I’ll be adding this to my to-read list. I’m not exactly a huge fan of Jennifer E. Smith (The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight was meh, but I really liked This is What Happy Looks Like), but I’m willing to read The Geography of You and Me. I’m definitely judging a book by its cover here lol.

Shooting Scars by Karina Halle

Shooting Scars by Karina Halle
Series: The Artists Trilogy #2
Publication Date: August 20th 2013

Sometimes the right choice can be the deadliest.

When Ellie Watt made the ultimate sacrifice for Camden McQueen, she never thought it would be easy. But walking away with her ex-lover, Javier Bernal, in order to ensure Camden’s safety has brought a whole new set of dangers. With Javier’s plans for Ellie growing more secretive by the moment, Ellie must find a way to stay ahead of the game before her past swallows her whole.

Meanwhile, Camden’s new life is short-lived. Fueled by revenge and pursued by authorities, he teams up with an unlikely partner in order to save Ellie. But as Camden toes the line between love and retribution, he realizes that in order to get back the woman he loves, he may have to lose himself in the process. He might just turn into the very man he’s hunting.

Told in dual POV from Camden and Ellie.

SO excited to read this one! I’ll probably be starting it today, because I just can’t wait for more Ellie and Camden and Javier! I LOVED Sins & Needles (my review here) and it ended on a freaking cliffhanger, so obviously I have to read Shooting Scars asap.

Breaking Nova by Jessica Sorensen

Breaking Nova by Jessica Sorensen
Series: Nova #1
Publication Date: September 3rd 2013

Nova Reed used to have dreams-of becoming a famous drummer, of marrying her true love. But all of that was taken away in an instant. Now she’s getting by as best she can, though sometimes that means doing things the old Nova would never do. Things that are slowly eating away at her spirit. Every day blends into the next . . . until she meets Quinton Carter. His intense, honey brown eyes instantly draw her in, and he looks just about as broken as she feels inside.

Quinton once got a second chance at life-but he doesn’t want it. The tattoos on his chest are a constant reminder of what he’s done, what he’s lost. He’s sworn to never allow happiness into his life . . . but then beautiful, sweet Nova makes him smile. He knows he’s too damaged to get close to her, yet she’s the only one who can make him feel alive again. Quinton will have to decide: does he deserve to start over? Or should he pay for his past forever?

I got this from Netgalley (in exchange for an honest review), and I’m so happy! I really liked Jessica Sorensen’s The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden (but weirdly, I wasn’t a fan of The Secret of Ella and Micha), so I’m excited to be reading another of her books! Which reminds me, I have to read The Redemption of Callie and Kayden asap too!

He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Add Wait for You to Goodreads – Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…
