When Avery Hensley met Conner Wellings, she thought she’d found the guy she was going to spend the rest of her life with. She got married young and had the most beautiful son in the world.

Life seemed perfect.

But not everything is what it seems.

Turned out Conner had another side to him, a darker side that Avery didn’t see coming. He wrecked and broke her into a thousand pieces, leaving Avery to put herself back together. From then on, Avery vows never to let a man into her life again.

But then she meets Tristan Morganson. He’s sweet and sexy and wrecks Avery in a different way than Conner did, the kind of way that makes her feel alive again, the kind of way that makes her think maybe not all guys are bad. But can Avery trust him enough to let her walls come crumbling down?

Now here’s an excerpt from Wreck Me! ❤

excerpt

As if I’ve lost my mind, I wet my lips with my tongue, a move I haven’t done in years. A slow smile curves at his lips.

“You did that on purpose,” he murmurs while eyeing my mouth and moistening his lips with his tongue.

“No I didn’t.” I suck my bottom lip into my mouth.

What the hell am I doing?

Stop leaning in Avery.

But we move like magnets. He leans in a little. I lean in a little. Me. Him. Me. Him. There’s hardly any space left between us. I can feel the warmth of his breath. Smell the delicious scent of his cologne. He’s still holding the cigarette and smoke circles around us mixing with the intensity of the moment. Am I going to do this? Let my wall down for another guy?

No.

Yes.

No.

I never fully get to make the decision because Tristan eliminates the last of the space between us and our lips collide.

Now here’s an excerpt from Seventh Grave and No Body! ❤

excerpt

“Now, let’s see what you’re capable of.” He crossed his arms over his wide chest. His hair curled around his ears, the thick dark mass shimmering in the low light. “Just play along for a minute.”

“Okay, what do I do?”

He lowered his head and gazed at me from underneath his lashes. “Imagine I’m one of the Twelve,” he said, his voice soft, smooth.

“One of the Twelve. Got it.”

“Now drop me.”

“Drop you.”

“Like you did today.”

“No,” I said, alarmed. “What I did this morning was not okay. You couldn’t breathe.”

“It was brilliant.”

“It was reckless,” I argued.

“Dutch,” he said in warning.

“Fine.” I lowered my lids and morphed into a lean mean fighting machine. I’d imagined myself as a coffee machine for so long, it was difficult, but I managed it. I opened my eyes and bore my gaze into his. “You are the disease and I’m the viral inhibitor that blocks attachment to the host cell and prevents the release of cloned viral particles, attacking from both ends.”

He fought a smile, then asked, “Where’d you get that?”

“Theraflu commercial, mostly.”

“Dutch,” he said in warning again, “drop me or you’ll wish you had.”

I didn’t doubt his words, though I had no idea what he would do to make me wish I had. After drawing in a lungful of air, I concentrated, ordered myself to drop him.

He kept his gaze locked on mine. “Dutch,” he growled, giving me one more warning.

But I couldn’t figure out what to do to drop him. I didn’t want to hurt him. I didn’t want to put him through what I’d put him through that morning.

I blinked, and in that instant, he was on me. He grabbed me by the throat and lifted me as though to body-slam me on the bed. Without thought, I slowed time to his speed, then slowed it more, until I had the advantage. Until I had the strength to break free from his hold, to twist my legs around, to grab him by the throat, and to use time itself to help me force him over my shoulder, to flip him and slam his body onto the ground.

As I allowed time to grab its footing again, the sound deafening as it ricocheted into place, I said one simple word to make sure I kept the advantage for a few seconds more.

“Excrucio.”

Reyes’s back arched as the pain hit him. He threw his head back in agony and growled between clenched teeth, his muscles tense as though seizing. I watched for a split second and wondered, as time settled around us, if I could cause pain, could I do the reverse? Could I cause pleasure?

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling Marked Men series continues with this sizzling, sexy story of love, heartbreak, fate, and second chances.

After the only girl he ever loved told him that he would never be enough, Rowdy St. James knocked the Texas dust off his boots and set out to live up to his nickname. A good ol’ boy looking for good times and good friends, Rowdy refuses to take anything too seriously, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Burned by love once, he isn’t going to let himself trust a woman again. But that’s before his new co-worker arrives, a ghost from the past who’s suddenly making him question every lesson he ever learned.

Salem Cruz grew up in house with too many rules and too little fun—a world of unhappiness she couldn’t wait to forget. But one nice thing from childhood has stayed with her; the memory of the sweet, blue-eyed boy next door who’d been head over heels in love with her little sister.

Now, fate and an old friend have brought her and Rowdy together, and Salem is determined to show him that once upon a time he picked the wrong sister. A mission that is working perfectly—until the one person that ties them together appears, threatening to tear them apart for good.

Sensual portrait of beautiful girl with tattoo lying on bed.

Now here’s an excerpt from Rowdy! ❤

excerpt

WHEN I PUT THE key he had given me in the door to his apartment it felt like the end of a long journey. Really it was only a little over twelve hours and I had stopped to nap once along the way, but it still felt like too long since I had seen his face or been able to touch all that toned and tattooed skin. Jimbo greeted me at the door when I pushed it open. His tongue lolled out of his mouth and he jumped up and put his paws on my legs. He was going to be huge when he finally grew into his fuzzy body and I was overwhelmed at how happy I was to see him. I dropped to my knees and rubbed my face in his neck as he licked me all over my face. I was obviously missed and I had to say it was just one more reason I knew I was finally where I was supposed to be. It was late, so the apartment was dark.

I checked the dog’s food and water, trying to be quiet in case Rowdy was already asleep. I was winding my way toward his bedroom when a haphazardly discarded sketch pad lying on the couch caught my eye in the dim light. I paused for a minute to pick it up and felt my heart stop and then start to race as I flipped through the first few pages. There were a couple of drawings that were obviously for clients, tattoos that hadn’t made it from paper to skin yet, but most of the pristine white pages were covered with images wearing my face. There was mermaid me, and naughty-sailor-girl me. There was sassy Indian girl me with long Pocahontas braids and there was sexy devil me standing next to angelic me. There were dozens of them all in different shapes and sizes, but every single image was undoubtedly modeled after my distinct look. I wasn’t sure if he had drawn them all over this last week while I had been gone or over the months we had been chasing each other in circles.

Either way it made my heart swell and the full certainty that I was it for him settle deep inside my bones. I set the pad down and tiptoed through the hall. Jimbo took one look at where I was going and huffed out a disgusted-sounding snort. The poor guy had learned early on that he wanted no part of what happened between his humans when they were together in the bedroom. The light was off and Rowdy was sprawled on his stomach across the covers. His blond hair was sticking up everywhere and he hand one arm bent up under his head. The only thing that could have made the sight better would have been if he hadn’t bothered with the black boxers before crashing out.

Even with them obscuring the view, I couldn’t complain. I let out a breathless sigh and crept closer so that I could lean over and touch my lips to that anchor on the side of his neck. I felt his pulse leap and tasted the salt on his skin as he murmured sleepily and rolled over onto his back. Those infinitely blue eyes glowed at me in the dark as a grin pulled up the corner of his mouth.

“Hey.”

Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome…

Come inside The Glamour Patch club to see the star of our show, Miss Vivica Blue.

Do you want to read my diary you nosy little devils? Have a glass of champagne (you’ll need it) and get comfortable because you’re in for some crazy shenanigans brought to you straight from the horse’s mouth.

I can be whatever you want me to be: boy, girl, a little bit of both.

If you have a problem with a man in a dress then best be off with you. If males in make-up give you the willies, then I’ll say au revoir and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

So, who are we left with? Ah, a fine collection of curious souls. I want to tell you a tale of love, because those are the most glorious kind. I want to tell you about real love, a love that transcends labels and gender stereotypes.

The moment I first laid eyes on my Freda I knew that we were kindred. Well okay, I also knew I wanted to get into her pants, but that’s beside the point. My world was a grey place. I was at my lowest ebb. Then she came along and patches of colour began to spring forth. One day the daffodils were yellow and before I knew it, colour was everywhere, lighting up my life.

Love is not about how we appear on the outside, it’s about the soul contained within.

Our story was not a conventional one, but it was ours, and that’s what made it shine.

Killer Queen is a companion novel to L.H. Cosway’s contemporary romance, Painted Faces. It contains scenes that take place before, during and after the original story. It can also be read as a standalone.

Killer Queen teaser

review button

Killer Queen is a fantastic companion novel to Painted Faces! I really enjoyed Painted Faces, but I think I have to admit that I liked Killer Queen slightly better. Most likely because it was narrated by the fabulous Nicholas Turner.

Killer Queen can be read as a standalone novel, but I highly recommend reading Painted Faces first. Killer Queen recounts only parts of Painted Faces, though we also get some of Nicholas’s story before and after. I really liked that we got to see how Nicholas was before he met Freda – you can see how he truly does hit rock bottom. I felt for this man, this man who doesn’t believe he has any self-worth. Nicholas’s past still haunts him and he drowns his past by becoming a woman.

The world was full of all sorts, and I was definitely one of them.
We human beings are strange creatures, and that strangeness makes us fascinating.

When Nicholas gets up on stage and becomes Vivica Blue, he doesn’t have an abusive past. He becomes an entirely different person and he loves it. Some people may think his quirks are strange, but he doesn’t care what people think. I loved being in Nicholas’s head, reading his thoughts. His mind goes back and forth, confident one moment, and then hitting rock bottom the next. And despite traveling around the world, performing shows, meeting all sorts of people, he’s lonely. It’s not until he meets Freda that Nicholas’s world is brought back to life.

Every morning I woke up looking forward to the day because I knew she was going to be in it. I didn’t dwell on the past so much anymore; now I found myself constantly looking to the future. And I didn’t mind being alone with my thoughts so much, either, because my thoughts were often about her.

Nicholas is one horny little devil. He absolutely adores Freda and her body – you think you know how much Nicholas wants Freda in Painted Faces, but you truly don’t know the extent of it until you read Killer Queen. It was adorable seeing Nicholas being so taken and enamored with Freda. You can clearly see how Nicholas falls in love with her, even though he doesn’t see it himself. His demons won’t allow love in his life, and it takes much heartbreak for Nicholas to finally realize he is more than worthy of loving and being loved.

“I feel like I need her more than air. Is that love?”

It was such a delight being in Nicholas’s head, reading his POV on certain parts of Painted Faces. I was just really happy overall with Killer Queen. We get a much clearer view on who Nicholas is, and I loved seeing how sweet he is to Freda. The ending of the book had me smiling so much! If you’re a fan of Painted Faces, you definitely won’t want to miss this companion novel – you’ll be falling all over again for Nicholas and Freda’s story!
