Lunar New Year Readathon 2020 Announcement + TBR Recommendations!

Hello and welcome to the first annual Lunar New Year Readathon, hosted by me, Lacey from Booklovers For Life, and Lisa from Remarkably Lisa! This readathon will occur every Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, and centers around Asian romance books: romances written by Asian authors and/or romances with Asian main characters. We know not every Asian country celebrates LNY, but we wanted a readathon to celebrate Asian romance authors as a whole. It’s also the Year of the Rat, which is actually my Chinese Zodiac!

Lisa and I are two Asian book bloggers (I’m Chinese-American, Lisa is Chinese-Canadian) who connected through Bookstagram and also started our own Booktube channels in 2019! (Follow us here: LaceyBooklovers & RemarkablyLisa.) We are incredibly excited to host this readathon and hope you’ll join in. Use the hashtag #LNYReadathon20 if you do so we can follow along!

Lunar New Year Readathon 2020 Details:

Dates: January 24-26, 2020
What to read: any romance book written by an Asian author and/or has an Asian hero or heroine

That’s it! It’s a go-at-your-own-pace kind of readathon, no challenges or other criteria besides the one above. Read as many or as little as you want. You can choose to share your TBRs on Instagram, Youtube, your blog – we want you to join from anywhere!

Here’s an Instagram TBR template if you’d like to use it!

If you need suggestions or recommendations for romances to read for the readathon, we’ve got you covered. I marked (*) on the books available on KU.

There’s also an incredibly helpful site called Romance Class with a list of Filipino authors who publish romance! Be sure to check it out!
