Never in your wildest dreams could you begin to imagine all the filthy and depraved things that go on inside The Wicked Horse. Step inside and Woolf Jennings will make every one of your dirty fantasies come true.

He’s covered in a facade of deception. An enticing blend of multi-millionaire and hot-as-hell Wyoming rancher, those that think they know Woolf Jennings admire his abilities to preside as CEO of his family’s cattle and oil empire. But only a privileged few truly understand what fuels the glitter of depravity in those gorgeous blue eyes. Only a few know he’s opened up a sinfully erotic and private sex club named The Wicked Horse right at the base of the beautiful Teton Mountain range.

Sweet Callie Hayes has returned home to Wyoming and is looking forward to starting her life over again. After a night of impetuosity, she’s managed to put herself right in Woolf’s line of sight… the man who she foolishly offered up her virginity to years ago and was flatly turned down.

Now Woolf is seeing that Callie is all grown up and has a kinky side to her that leaves him as confused as it does turned on. Worse yet, both Callie’s dirty desires and sweet heart are getting under his skin, and making Woolf question everything he’s ever believed about himself.

I’ve been a fan of Sawyer Bennett’s since reading Uncivilized and the Cold Fury Hockey series, so I had high hopes for Wicked Fall. Unfortunately, it wasn’t up to par with what I previously read and loved from Sawyer. It wasn’t a bad book, just more of an okay one – I didn’t care for the hero very much, and the whole BDSM thing was just ‘meh’. While the writing and everything else were enjoyable enough, I just could love this book as much as I wanted to because of the problems I had with Woolf.

Woolf Jennings, multimillionaire CEO and rancher, has always had a dream of owning a owning a sex club, and now that dream is finally becoming a reality with the help of his best friend Bridger. They are co-owners of The Wicked Horse, a place they can play out the kinkiest, most depraved things they can think of.

It’s the ultimate high.
Add in some kink.
Let people explore their fantasies.
Indulge in your nastiest desire.
Yeah, that’s the shit that turns the ultimate high into infinite euphoria.
And I’m going to give people the ability to achieve that.

Callie Hayes has known Woolf nearly all her life, and has always had a crush on him. But when he rejects her offer of her virginity, she vows to never think of him again. Fast forward years later, and Callie has returned home to Wyoming… and to Woolf. Woolf has never been able to forget the sweet girl who thought the world of him, and now that she’s back, he not letting her get away without having a taste of her body.

…I could no more stop with Callie Hayes than I could give up oxygen.

I really liked the way Sawyer Bennett wrote the chemistry in Wicked Fall. I love a story where the main characters have history with one another, and Woolf and Callie certainly do, which makes it all the hotter to read about a man who wanted what he couldn’t have. But now that he CAN have her, the passion is fierce and crazy hot and everything was just seriously sexy, even without any kink or BDSM. Which is why when the kink and BDSM were introduced, it kind of fell flat. Woolf honestly didn’t even seem that kinky – the only kinky thing about him is his wanting to own a sex club. So I really didn’t see a problem with why Woolf feels that he can’t be with with Callie. He thinks she’s still that too pure and innocent girl he used to know and won’t be able to handle his ‘kink’ and keeps rejecting her without seeing the woman she’s grown to be.

Callie is warm and sweet. Innocent. Endearing. She’s kind and beautiful and sheltered. She is every fucking reason in the book why someone like me could never be good enough for someone like her.

Woolf tried to be an alpha-male, but he failed in that regard. I didn’t like the way he treated the heroine, seeing her as the girl she used to be without even trying to get to know the woman, outside of learning her body. I really enjoyed Callie’s character, but I wish she stood up to him earlier than she did to show Woolf that she could handle anything from him. Plus, I didn’t like the way Woolf always saw Callie as second to his club, his supposed dream. It takes a LONG time for him to see differently, that Callie deserves to be first in a man’s life, and I was just thoroughly disappointed in his character.

ALSO!! This is a MINOR SPOILER, but I just wanted to mention something about a sex scene: There’s a menage scene that I kind of wasn’t that comfortable with. I normally love menages – granted, when I’m expecting them – but this one was completely unexpected, so for those of you, like me, who want to know ahead of time, Callie and Woolf participate in a menage. But the thing that bothered me was that I didn’t see a point to including the menage in the book – the story would’ve been perfectly fine with or without it. And for a supposed alpha-male, Woolf just wasn’t as possessive as I expected him to be during the threesome.

With the problems I had with this book, Wicked Fall only ended up an okay read for me. The romance was sexy as hell, sometimes sweet, but Woolf was just too annoying for me to enjoy the romance as much as I wanted to. It was a little disappointing, but not so bad that I didn’t enjoy it at all. It still had good, solid writing, but overall it wasn’t what I expected.

Blog Tour + Author Interview & Giveaway: The Taming of the Billionaire by Jessica Clare

The Taming of the Billionaire Tour Banner

Welcome to today’s stop on the blog tour for The Taming of the Billionaire by Jessica Clare! We have Jessica here today for an author interview!

Author Interview: Jessica Clare

Hi Jessica! I’m so happy to have you on the blog – I’m such a huge fan!

Thank you! Happy to be here! ☺

The Taming of the Billionaire is the second book in your new Billionaires and Bridesmaids series. Tell us a little about it!

Since Billionaires and Bridesmaids is a look at our heroes and heroines from the first books getting married and their friends, we’re moving on to Gretchen and Hunter’s impending wedding. Edie is one of Gretchen’s college friends and a cranky cat lady. Magnus is a business associate and groomsman to Hunter, and the two hate each other at first sight. Which of course, turns into lust (because this is romance!).

What was the inspiration for The Taming of the Billionaire?

Netflix! Specifically, the show ‘My Cat From Hell’. I thought Jackson Galaxy’s job as a ‘cat behaviorist’ was interesting, and I tried to imagine a heroine with a similar type job. Of course, because so many things are gendered, a guy with a cat job is ‘quirky’ while a woman with a cat job is a ‘cat lady’. So I inspired to make her the crankiest, most non-shit-taking cat lady there is. As for the hero, Magnus, I’m addicted to a few games on my phone (Puzzles and Dragons!!) and saw that Minecraft had been sold for a billion to Microsoft and the concept for that hero sort of spun into my “I’d like to do a Taming of the Shrew” concept that I was working around. Which probably sounds like a hot mess but trust me! It works!

What was your favorite part about writing The Taming of the Billionaire?

Edie! She was so unapologetically a pain in the ass that I loved writing her.

How do you like working on a new series now that the Billionaire Boys Club series (which I love!) is finished?

Well, I do miss my boys! Which is why they’re not so far away from this group. They’re going to be dropping in quite a bit on these characters. ☺

In what ways is the new series different from the Billionaire Boys Club series?

We’re going to see a lot of new characters from different walks of life stepping in, and there’s a very big wedding focus. Book 1 was Bronte and Logan’s resort wedding. Books 2-5 will be hitting Gretchen and Hunter’s wedding party, because you know things just won’t go smoothly! After that, I’m going to swing back around to either Audrey or Maylee’s nuptials!

What’s the best part about writing about billionaires?

The playground – there’s no limit to the ‘big’ gestures the hero can make when money is no object. That’s fun. ☺

Can you tell us about your different pen names and how it all works out?

Jessica Sims is shifter romances, Jessica Clare is erotic contemporary, and Jill Myles is a little bit of everything but the kitchen sink! The names were all because of publishing reasons. I started as Jill Myles and then my numbers weren’t so hot, so they ‘recreated’ me as Jessica Sims. Then when I went to Berkley, we started a new pen name to differentiate things, so Jessica Clare was born.

What was your favorite book to write and why?

It’s usually the last one I just wrote because it’s DONE. But I have to admit I have a special soft spot in my heart for Reese & Audrey’s book, and Cade & Kylie’s.

What kind of heroine/hero do you love to read about?

Bickery ones! I think because I love the snappy banter.

What are you currently working on? Is there exciting news you can share?

We’re in talks for more books but I don’t have news yet! Maybe I will by the time this posts!

Thank you so much for the interview, Jessica!

The New York Times bestselling author of The Billionaire and the Virgin returns with a tale of Shakespearean-style seduction…

Edie’s an overbearing cat behaviorist who’s not big on people. Magnus is a newly-rich game developer who likes to be in control. When the two of them meet at Gretchen and Hunter’s masquerade engagement party, the loathing is mutual. Unfortunately for them—and everyone else—they’re in the wedding party together and must deal with each other for the next few months.

But when Magnus’s younger brother falls for Edie’s sister, he begs for his brother’s help in concocting a plan to win her over. If Magnus can keep the prickly Edie occupied, his brother will have time to woo Edie’s sister. Of course, Magnus isn’t interested in the slightest, but Edie is…intriguing. And stubborn. And smart. And sexy. And they might have more in common than they thought.

Before long, it becomes a challenge between the two of them to see who will be tamed first. But how’s Edie going to react when she finds out that Magnus is using her? And how’s Magnus going to handle the fact that he’s fallen for a cat lady?

They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?

Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.

Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself.

Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

I adored this book so hard, y’all. I mean, I had no doubt I would – I really enjoyed Sarina Bowen’s other M/M romance, The Understatement of the Year, and Elle Kennedy is now one of my FAVORITE authors because of her Off-Campus series. So the two of them writing a book together? Sweet perfection. Both of their writing styles meshed perfectly well together, and they’ve created a book that is pure goodness. And Him is so, so, so good. This was the best combination of sweet, funny, and sexy.

I love friends-to-lovers romances, and when you throw hockey in, I’m a goner. Wes and Jamie have been best friends since attending hockey camp each summer together. But after a naughty bet, lines are blurred and Jamie is cut off completely from Wes, never hearing from him for four years. Now in the midst of their hockey careers, they come into contact for the first time in years, and everything they used to feel for each other at camp – friendship, camaraderie, love – comes rushing back.

I have the same damn weakness I’ve always had. It’s still there as I stare up at the big screen. As I watch Jamie Canning stop another dizzying slap shot. As I admire the grace and deadly precision with which he moves.
My weakness is him.

I loved how Wes and Jamie clicked, both in the past and the present. They make the best of friends, and eventually the best of lovers. But it takes a while to get there – while Wes is an openly gay hockey player, Jamie doesn’t even realize his feelings for Wes have grown past friendship until he gets jealous over Wes flirting with another man. Soon enough, they can’t resist one another, and the chemistry between them flames hotter than ever.

Our mouths fit together so perfectly. Every time we kiss, I fall even more in love with him, and it has nothing to do with sex or lust. It’s him. His closeness and his scent and the way he soothes me.

I LOVED Wes right from the start. He’s hilarious and sweet, and my heart was aching for him and his unrequited love for Jamie. Jamie, though, I took a bit longer to warm up to. But once I witnessed the two of them together, everything fit. There’s just an incredible, solid foundation of friendship that love grew so naturally between them. My heart just wanted to burst with happiness whenever Jamie and Wes were together.

The best part of Him (besides the HOT M/M sex, of course) was the depth of Wes and Jamie’s characters. Wes has been in love with Jamie for years, and now he’s given the chance to show that love physically and emotionally, if not verbally. Jamie has his own journey of self-discovery, realizing things about himself he never even contemplated. He comes to terms with the fact that he enjoys both men and women, though that doesn’t diminish one bit of the feelings he has for Wes.

“Loved you every summer since I was thirteen years old. Love you even more now.”

Him was a simple and quite uncomplicated read. While it didn’t WOW me or make me feel any super intense emotions, I still loved it. It’s an easy, light, fun read with some crazy hot sexy times between two best guy friends. It’s a feel-good romance by two fantastic authors I really wish will write more books together. I’ll honestly read anything Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy write together, M/M or no M/M, because Him was so well executed with the dual POVs. I highly recommend this book for romance or M/M fans!

Now here’s an excerpt from Every Last Breath! ❤

Roth cleared his throat. “Shortie, look…look at your hand.”

Look at my hand? Why in the world would he be asking me to do that in the midst of all the cray?

“Do it,” he said quietly and too gently.

The dread exploded in my gut like buckshot, and my gaze dropped to my left hand. I expected to see the weird marbling of black and gray, a mixture of the demon and Warden that existed inside of me and a combination I’d become almost familiar with by now. My nails had lengthened and sharpened, and I could tell they were hard enough to cut through steel, as hard as my skin, but my skin…it was still pink. Really pink.

“What the…?” My gaze traveled to my other hand. It was the same. Just pink. My wings twitched, reminding me that I had shifted.

Zayne swallowed. “Your…your wings…”

“What about my wings?” I almost screeched, reaching be‑ hind me. “Are they broken? Did they not come out—” The tips of my fingers came into contact with something as soft as silk. My hand jerked back. “What…”

Stacey’s watery eyes had doubled in size. “Um, Layla, there’s a mirror above the fireplace. I think you need to look in it.”

I met Roth’s gaze for a second before I spun around and all but ran to the fireplace I was sure Stacey’s mom had never used. Clutching the white mantel, I stared at my reflection.

I looked normal, like I did before I shifted…like I was going to class or something. My eyes were the palest shade of gray, a watered-down blue. My hair was so blond it was almost white, and a mess of waves that went in every direction like usual. I looked like a colorless china doll, which was nothing new, except for the two fangs jutting out of my mouth. I wouldn’t show them off at school, but that wasn’t what caught my attention and held it.

It was my wings.

They were large, not as massive as Zayne’s or Roth’s, and normally they were almost leathery in texture, but now they were black…black and feathered. Like legit feathered. That soft, silky thing I’d felt? It had been tiny feathers.

Feathers.

“Oh my God,” I whispered at my reflection. “I have feathers.”

“Those are definitely feathered wings,” Roth commented.

I whipped around, knocking over a lamp with my feathered right wing. “I have feathers on my wings!”

Roth cocked his head to the side. “Yeah, you do.”

He was absolutely no help, so I turned to Zayne. “Why do I have feathers on my wings?”

Zayne shook his head slowly. “I don’t know, Layla. I’ve never seen anything like this.”

“Liar,” hissed Roth, shooting him a dark look. “You’ve seen that before. So have I.”
