Madoc and Fallon. Two estranged teenagers playing games that push the boundaries between love and war…

She’s back.

For the two years she’s been away at boarding school, there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.

I was stupid then, but now I’m ready to beat her at her own game…

I’m back.

Two years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he’s better than me.

But I won’t be scared away. Or pushed down. I’ll call his bluff and fight back. That’s what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he’ll never know how much he affects me….

Make sure to check out the previous books in the FALL AWAY series!! This series is seriously one of my FAVORITES–you will fall in love, and I highly, highly recommend it!

Woooh!! Now I have an excerpt for you! ❤

excerpt

(unedited, subject to change prior publication)

“You’re afraid of yourself,” he said flatly. “Not me.”

And then he backed up, looking down at me.” And that’s why you’re gutless, K.C.” All the softness from his voice was now gone. “Now I have to shower, and you need to leave.”

And he turned around and strode for the men’s locker room.

I shook my head.

He was wrong. I wasn’t gutless. Why did he keep saying that?

I sniffled and cleared my throat, standing tall. “Maybe I just don’t want you,” I blurted out and damn near smiled when he spun around, looking surprised. “Maybe I just don’t want you, Jax. Did you ever consider there might be one woman in this world that doesn’t pant after you?”

And I breathed out a small laugh as I spun around and headed for the door.

But before I even reached the handle, an arm circled my waist, yanking me back into a warm body, and I gasped just as my hair was swiped to the side and a hot mouth was on my neck.

Everything fell apart. My knees buckled, but he held me tight as my eyes closed, and my neck fell to the side, inviting him in.

Oh, my God!

It felt so good. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t pull away. I couldn’t stop him. His mouth was like hot water pouring over me, creating a blanket of heat. His teeth grazed my skin, rough but not hard, and he slid his lips and teeth over the sensitive area under my ear, and I wasn’t sure if he was kissing me or getting ready to eat me.

He left short but deep kisses across my neck, at the base, and under my ear. His tongue flicked my ear lobe right before his other hand reached around and turned my chin to him.

And then his mouth was on mine. I moaned and gasped, probably sounding like I was in pain, but I couldn’t help it. The tornado between my legs made my skin tingle.

Jax’s tongue found mine, and I groaned into his mouth, inhaling his scent that reminded me of summer. Of sweet cotton candy on a Ferris Wheel and cool water on hot skin.

The heat, the wetness, the taste, everything was hard and fast as his lips worked mine.

Keeping the same arm around my waist, his other hand left my face and dove straight under my skirt and into my panties.

“Oh,” I whimpered a muffled groan into his mouth that still held me hostage. What was he doing? I needed to stop this!

But my eyes fluttered as his smooth fingers dipped into my center, swirling the wetness already there around my clit.

And then his mouth left mine, and he yanked me up off my feet and growled in my ear.

“You’re so wet for me, K.C.” His voice was hard and threatening. “You’re gutless, helpless, and a fucking liar, too.”

And then he dropped me on my ass, and I fell to the mats, shaking with confusion.

All I heard behind me was a door open and close, and I knew I was alone.

Bringing a shaky hand to my mouth, I sucked in air like it was going out of style. “Holy shit,” I whispered.

***This novel contains graphic sexual content and harsh language. It is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.

Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or so numb that you actually felt high? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between.

Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don’t care about anything or anyone.

Except Tatum.

I love her so much that I hate her. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn’t trust her or anyone else.

So I hurt her. I pushed her away.

But I still need her. The sight of her centers me, and I can pool all of my anger into her. Engaging her, challenging her, bullying her…they are my food, my air, and the last part of me that feels anything human.

But she left. She went to France for a year, and came back a different girl.

Now, when I push, she pushes back.

Oh lord. This book. THIS. BOOK. I don’t know how to describe my love for this beautiful book and series. I am completely head over heels in LOVE, and it’s all because of a boy named JARED. Jared will be the death of me, I swear. I CAN’T HANDLE HIS HOTNESS. *Takes a deep breath* Okay, so yeah. I loved this book.

If you’re expecting Until You to just be a retelling of Bully in Jared’s POV, well, you’re in for a lovely surprise. Until You has so much more than what happens in Bully, and the timeline is longer. We get more of the year that Tate left for Europe (when Jared is totally moping about how Tate won’t be there with him for him to bully), more flashbacks of Jared and Tate’s childhood (they are the cutest!), and  more of what happens after the end of Bully (which is YAY!!) And Penelope Douglas writes this all with Jared’s no nonsense, totally badass POV. (Please write more male POV Penelope!)

What is it with boys who are totally hot but complete jerks? And WHY do I still keep on loving them? Maybe it’s the sweet side that they show only to the women they love, or maybe it’s the whole redemption thing, but whatever reason it is, I can’t stop reading about them! And Jared is probably my all-time favorite jerk. He’s the jerk of my dreams. The lovable jerk. Sometimes he takes it too far, but whenever that happens, we know that he feels guilty (even though he tries to be badass and not show it). *Sigh* Jared just makes me swoon so hard.

“Girlfriend isn’t enough to describe you, Tate. That term is disposable. You’re not my girlfriend, my girl, or my woman. You’re. Just. Mine,” I bit out every syllable, so she would fucking understand. “And I’m yours,” I added, a little calmer.”

We get to see how devastated Jared felt when he came home from his father’s, and how he kept spiraling downward, and pushing Tate away. But then, when Tate comes back, everything changes for him. It’s not so easy to bully her or to bottle up his feelings for her. Because no matter how many times Jared tries to push Tate away, she is always in his heart. And when he’s finally done with the bullying… SAH-WOOOON!! Oh god, why is Jared so amazing? He turns on the charm because he knows Tate can’t resist him, just like he can’t resist her, and the two of them together are explosive.

But I wanted Tate back. My heart only beat for her, and I’d rather spend my life hating, loving, fucking, and breathing her than losing her.

Jared’s lantern tattoo!! AH! The sweetest thing I’ve ever read. Until You is perfect. Reading from Jared’s POV about how much he loves Tate, and how he tries to redeem himself is just the best thing ever. Penelope Douglas is a goddess for creating one of my favorite book boyfriends!

“I can’t change the past, Tate. I wish I could, because I’d go back and relive every day that I existed without you, and I’d make sure that you smiled.” My eyes burned with regret, and I saw the pools in her beautiful blues, too. “Every minute of my future belongs to you.”

If you haven’t read Bully yet, you should. And then you should immediately read Until You (you lucky butt, you didn’t have to wait for it to release). I am SO excited for Madoc’s book. He has a much bigger part in Until You since he’s Jared’s best friend, and he actually seems like a genuine guy. Yeah, he’s a smartass and an idiot sometimes, but he’s hilarious and a really great friend for Jared. And oh! Jax! Can’t believe I almost forgot about him. Jared’s brother is getting his own book, and I’m PSYCHED. Jax sounds awesome, but broken. Can’t wait to see how Penelope Douglas will play out their stories!

My name is Tate. He doesn’t call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. We’re neighbors, and once, we were best friends. But then, one summer, he turned on me and has made it his mission to screw up my life at every opportunity. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to hide from him. I worried about what was around every corner and behind every door.

So I left.

I spent a year studying abroad and bathed in the freedom of life without Jared. Now I’m back to finish up high school and get the hell out of here forever. I’m hoping that after a year of breathing room, he’s moved on and forgotten all about me.

But even if he hasn’t changed, I have. I’m not interested in avoiding him or turning the other cheek anymore. We’re going to go head to head, because neither of us wants to back down.

Yesterday lasts forever.
Tomorrow comes never.
Until you.

Oh. My. God. I LOOOVED this book. Absolutely, whole-heartedly loved it! It was incredible! It made me smile and laugh and made my heart pound, and I can’t believe I waited so long to read it! Gosh, Penelope Douglas, you have written such a great romance. I fell in love and swoon so hard for Jared. Bad boys just can’t get any better than him 😉

I wasn’t sure how I would like a romance where the male lead is, well, a bully. And he truly is a bully. Jared is mean, cold and cruel to Tate. He laughs at her, taunts her, spreads rumors about her… So how did I find a way to look past his cruelness and fall in love with him? Well, to be honest, I’m not even sure! All I knew was that I never truly hated Jared for the way he treated Tate (and he was pretty horrible to her). I always thought in the back of my mind there had to be a reason for his cruelness. You just don’t go from being the best of friends when you were young, to practically enemies. Jared left Tate one summer to visit his father, and when he returned, gone was the sweet best friend. Only a bitter, cold-hearted boy came back. And all Tate can think is, What happened?

Tate used to let Jared’s cruelness get the best of her. She’d cry and run away, but the start of her senior year is different. She’s standing up for herself now, and standing against Jared. She’s not going to let him bully her anymore, and she sure as hell isn’t ever going to let him make her cry again.

“You’ve already made me cry countless times.” I raised my middle finger to him slowly, and asked, “Do you know what this is?” I took my middle finger and patted the corner of my eye with it. “It’s me, wiping away the last tear you’ll ever get.”

From that point on, when she said that, I totally loved this girl. Tate grows a backbone, and she’s so kickass. Sure, she goes a little over the top with the way she retaliates against Jared, but I thought it was completely warranted. After all, Jared did treat her like shit. But then she realizes that treating Jared as badly as he treated her isn’t the way to go. Plus, there’s that insanely strong attraction they have for one another. *fans self* Their sexual tension is off the charts! Holy hell, the way they react to each other, it’s just the. best. It’s sexy and exciting and so fun to read, because you never knew exactly when they’d blow and start kissing the crap out of each other 😉

My absolute favorite quote:

“You were my tempest, my thunder cloud, my tree in the downpour. I loved all those things, and I loved you. But now? You’re a fucking drought. I thought that all the assholes drove German cars, but it turns out that pricks in Mustangs can still leave scars.”

*Sigh* Tate is just too great. I loved her character. She and Jared are perfect.

Ahem. So, Jared. We all love stories about redemption. And Jared is the ultimate redemption story. He’s bad and makes no excuses for it. And how can Tate ever forgive him for the way he treated her? We start to see the other side of Jared, the part that’s not mean or cold or cruel. And, well… it’s hard not to fall in love with him after seeing him without the hard exterior. And Tate has a hard time not falling in love either.

“I want to touch you.” His words were against my lips now. “I want to feel what’s mine. What’s always been mine.”

Tate still misses her best friend, and when I kept reading (because I COULDN’T STOP) and found out why Jared changed, it broke my heart. I wanted them to have their HEA desperately, because they both deserved one, and they both deserved a happy ending together. Because they’re meant for each other, and always have. Their love is so sweet and heartfelt and romantic. *Sigh* It kept making me smile and clutch my heart, because they’re so good together.

The amount of angst in the book is perfect! My heart was going crazy for Jared and Tate. If you haven’t read this book, GO! It’s amazing. It’ll take you on a roller coaster of emotions.

And oh gosh, I’m SO ecstatic to read Until You, which is Jared’s POV of Bully. AH! Can’t wait to read it! It’s high up on my wishlist 🙂
