Welcome to today’s stop on the promo tour for Long Way Down by Krista & Becca Ritchie!!! I’m so, so, sooo excited to have Krista & Becca here today on the blog with an interview! Check it out below – and don’t forget that Long Way Down releases on Nov. 20th (3 more days)!

Author Interview: Krista & Becca Ritchie

This is the FINAL book in the Addicted series (kinda)!!! I can’t believe it’s almost over! How are you two feeling about this?

Becca: so many emotions! I bounce back between being overcome with joy to being overcome with sadness. Bittersweet is probably the best word.

Krista: Bittersweet is the perfect word! We’re so ready to share the end of the series with everyone, but at the same time it’s a bit heartbreaking to finally let it go.

What were your thoughts right after you finished writing Long Way Down?

Becca: It’s over. Omg. It’s over. I started bawling.

Krista: I’ve never cried so much. And it’s not a normal crying, it was the full-on snot-nosed, blubbering. My thoughts ranged from this is everything we hoped it’d be to this can’t be the end. And then cue more waterworks.

How would you describe Daisy and Ryke at the start of LWD?

Becca: By this time, they’ve been a couple for a long while. They’re not so much in the honeymoon stage of their relationship like they were in Hothouse Flower. They know each other really, really well. Recently, they’ve been through some personal struggles (this was show at the end of Fuel the Fire) and that weighs heavy on their minds.

Krista: Completely agree with Becca! The Daisy and Ryke you see in LWD is one you haven’t had the chance to see yet. They’re a solid couple in the later stages of their relationship.

How would you describe Daisy and Ryke to someone who’s never read them?

Becca: Adventurous but extremely caring and giving. Ryke Meadows will literally take the shirt off his back and hand it to a stranger if they need it more than him.

Krista: I also think they’re both a bit misunderstood. Ryke comes across as very aggressive, but he has a soft heart. Daisy can seem too nonchalant, young and carefree, but she has very serious moments and this internal maturity that not many people see.

What can Raisy/Addicted fans expect in LWD? Any OMFG moments?

Becca: Plenty of OMFG moments! Long Way Down has a little bit of everything and then a lot of other things 😀

Krista: Long Way Down is a huge book! So like Becca said, there’s a little bit of everything.

This is Daisy and Ryke’s final book. Any last words you’d like to say to them?

Becca: Daisy, I just want to tell you that sometimes people might not hear you or see what you’re going through, but there are people who love you and people who do care. I’m very proud of all that you’ve overcome. Thank you for letting us write your story. You mean so much to us.

Krista: Ryke, thank you for literally pushing your way into this series. Had it not been for you, some of the characters wouldn’t have had the growth they needed. Your relationships with friends, family, and Daisy have been some of our favorites to write. Thank you for allowing us to put your journey to paper. We fucking love you.

Of course, I have to ask, how big is LWD? Is it the longest of the series?

Becca: GIANT. IT IS FAT. Without a doubt.

Krista: It’s much, much bigger than even our biggest novel.

We know LWD isn’t quite the end for the Addicted series. Why did you decide to write a full-length epilogue book?

Becca: There are things that we want to show “after” Long Way Down, and instead of just writing little snippets of bonus material, we’ve decided to combine it all together. It’ll give a fuller, more detailed picture of “the end” than when you see in Long Way Down. It’ll also be a good bridge book to the Like Us series, which is a spin-off of the Addicted series.

Krista: That’s the perfect explanation! We’re planning on writing enough for it that it wouldn’t feel right just releasing it as bonus material.

Lastly, what are you two currently working on? Is there anything you can share about Some Kind of Perfect or Infini?

Becca: We’ll share more info about Some Kind of Perfect after Long Way Down releases. It’s kind of spoilery if we try to discuss it now. Infini is going to be so much fun! We can’t wait to share it. It’s a childhood best friends to lovers story with a bit of a twist 😀

Krista: We’re currently plotting both Some Kind of Perfect and Infini. After we take a little reading break (we haven’t read in ages!), we’re going to start writing those two.

Thank you so much for the interview, girls!

Becca: Thanks so much for having us on your blog!!

Krista: Thank you!!!

Kate was taking a break and having coffee and a muffin at Wilde Roast Café when Ian slid into the booth and sat across from her. He was wearing a lightweight cream-colored sweater with a tan-and-green-patterned shirt underneath, and he smelled good.

“Hello again.”

Confused, Kate looked around. “Where did you come from?”

“I walked in the door like everyone else.”

“Do you live nearby?” Kate lived in the St. Anthony Main neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis. The food pantry was conveniently located on SE Main Street, which was a short three-block walk from her apartment. The quiet brick-paved street was lined with restaurants, shops, and a movie theater and included a stunning view of the Mississippi River and St. Anthony Falls. There were also bars that featured live music and plenty of green space in nearby parks.

He shook his head. “Not really.”

“Then why are you here?”

“I felt like talking to you again. You’re seated, so you probably won’t try to strangle me this time.”

“How did you know where to find me?” She was tucked away in a back booth instead of one of the tables near the windows that looked out over SE Main, so it wasn’t like he’d walked by and spotted her.

He held a steaming cup of coffee and blew on it to cool it. “I tracked your credit card activity. According to Capital One, you bought a cup of coffee and a muffin here twelve minutes ago.”

“You tracked my credit card?” Her voice sounded rather loud and shrieky.

He held a finger in front of his mouth. “Shh, Katie Long Legs. That information is for your ears only. How’s your coffee? Would you like a refill?”

Kate did not appreciate being shushed, but she lowered her voice. “Are you some kind of cyberthief?” she whispered. And since when were criminals so well-dressed and impeccably groomed?

“I did not steal your credit card number. I simply accessed your account to see where and when you’d used it last. Then I came here.”

“If you wanted to talk to me again, why didn’t you just go to the food pantry?”

He looked at her like it was obvious. “Because you’re not there. You’re here at this café.”

“If you’re not a cyberthief, then what are you?”

“I’m a hacker.”

“Is there a difference?”

“Most definitely.”

“When you said you steal from the rich to give to the poor, I thought you were kidding. Is that how you get the money?”

“I don’t steal it. I appropriate it from people who shouldn’t have it in the first place. Then I give it to those who are more deserving.”

Kate twisted her napkin. “I can’t keep the money. I’ve already spent the first two donations, but if you come back to the food pantry with me, I can return the most recent one. It’s still locked in the safe because I wasn’t planning on going shopping until tomorrow.”

“No, Katie. I don’t want it back. It’s for you. It’s for the babies.”

“It’s wrong,” she said quietly.

“Is it?”

“It’s against the law.”

“Trust me when I say the people I took it from don’t want the law involved any more than I do.”

“What are you saying? That you’re a thief who steals from other thieves?”

He wrinkled his nose, and it was adorable.

Stop! Thief!

“It sounds so distasteful when you say it like that. I prefer master appropriator of ill-gotten funds. You can call me master for short.”

“I have lots of things I’d like to call you. Master is not one of them.”

Welcome to today’s stop on the Fuel the Fire promo tour!! I am soooo excited to be a part of it and to share the fantastic author interview I had with Krista & Becca Ritchie!

Fuel the Fire releases on April 3rd, which is only ONE WEEK away!! I can’t freaking WAIT for more Connor and Rose – they are one of my FAVORITE fictional couples ever.

ONE. MORE. WEEK!!!!

Author Interview: Krista & Becca Ritchie

5 words to describe Fuel the Fire?

Krista: I never know if I’m supposed to answer this with five unrelated words or make a sentence, so I’m challenging Becca to make a sentence. Here are my 5 words: Romantic, Emotional, Intelligent, Surprising, Sexy

Becca: 5 words: how do you measure love

How was it like being back in Rose and Connor’s POVs? Was it as difficult as it was the first time?

Krista: It was almost harder than the first time. I think we both can attest that Fuel the Fire is the most difficult book we’ve ever written. The challenge was returning to Rose and Connor after being in three different couples’ heads (Lilo, Raisy, and then Nikolai and Thora from Amour Amour) for the past year. On top of that, we had forgotten how challenging writing with Connor really is. He’s a character that diffuses conflict, which makes it that much harder.

Becca: I think it took us a little bit of time to adjust, but once we did, their POVs were a nice welcome back 🙂 Of all the characters too, I feel as though Rose & Connor challenge us to be better writers. We have to elevate our style to match who they are, and I love them for that. At the end of writing Kiss the Sky and now Fuel the Fire, I had this overwhelming feeling, knowing we did our absolute personal best—and it’s so rewarding to experience that.

What was the best part about writing Fuel the Fire and being in Rose and Connor’s POVs again?

Krista: The banter, definitely. They just have their own way of conversing that’s so unique to them. It’s actually going to be sad to walk away from it. They’re also just such a romantic couple and adding that with their love-hate relationship, it creates this wonderful paradox that’s so much fun to write.

Becca: We can also elevate the lingo and use words that we’d crave to use in other POVs but the other characters don’t say often. Like “indignant” or “fervent” are two that I can name right now. Like Krista, I also loveeee writing their banter, and for Fuel the Fire, we were able to go back in time and write their first time meeting each other (which is the prologue). I could probably write a whole “Rose and Connor: the Younger Years” book because their wit is so much fun for us.

Will there be any OMFG moments (like the EPIC lap dance! *giggles*) in Fuel the Fire?

Krista: Yes! We always have a variety of OMFG moments in our books but we never know which one readers will pick out as the OMFG moment (*ahem* the lap dance). We know there are tons of shocking moments in this one, so I’m really excited to see which one readers will deem worthy of being the OMFG moment.

Becca: I agree with Krista on this one. After we wrote Kiss the Sky, we had no idea that everyone would love the lap dance to that extent. We always try to add unexpected moments into the books that we consider OMFG worthy, but we’re waiting to see which ones you think will be THE moment when you all read it 😉

Do you know the word/page count for Fuel the Fire? (PLEASE tell me it’s going to be a chubby book!)

Krista: We’re actually compulsive editors, so we don’t know if we’re going to delete something a couple days before the release. What we can say is that Fuel the Fire is longer than Addicted After All, which is our biggest book.

Becca: It’s chubby for sure 🙂

Since you two aren’t parents, did you have to do a lot of research for everything baby-related?

Krista: We did have to do research. And luckily one of our cousins is a young mom, so we were able to ask her for some tips.

Becca: Our mom also provided insight and stories and answered any questions we had, so we always knew we could turn to her.

How do you two feel about Fuel the Fire being the final book in Rose and Connor’s POVs?

Krista: It’s so bittersweet. On one hand, I hate saying goodbye. On the other hand, I know this is the right story for them and that they have enough closure where there can’t really be another book. And Fuel the Fire almost wasn’t going to happen. It was really by the power of the fans of this series that we decided to go forward with it last year, so I look at it as more of a blessing than anything.

Becca: Yep, when we wrote Kiss the Sky, we never planned to write in Rose & Connor’s POV again. I had more bittersweet feelings back then, I think. The feeling of this one is more like yes. Thank God we did this. Thank God we had fans who wanted us to write this. Thank God we grew the courage to finish it. I can’t even imagine this book not existing. It gives so much depth to Rose & Connor and their beings, and so I’ve ended this journey with them just completely happy and satisfied. It’s one of the best feelings.

Lastly, can you give us a non-spoilery teaser about my #1 book boyfriend AKA Connor Cobalt? *bats eyelashes*

Krista: Oh gosh! A non-spoilery teaser is going to be hard. Hmmm. You’re going to see lots of different sides to Connor Cobalt in this book. It goes a lot deeper than Kiss the Sky ever did.

Becca: We’ve been very hush, hush on the spoiler front, but I suppose I can give a tiny, tiny one and say that Sadie (Connor’s cat) will be talked about in FTF 🙂 Rawr!

Welcome to today’s stop on the ADDICTED AFTER ALL promo tour!! So excited to be a part of it! I get to interview the ah-mazing Krista & Becca on the blog today.

AAA releases on Oct. 31st, which is also Lo’s birthday! AAA will also be the FINAL book in Lily and Lo’s POV’s in the Addicted series. I love the Addicted series so hard – it’s honestly one of the BEST series I’ve ever read. If you haven’t started this series yet, go go go!

Don’t forget –

FIVE. MORE. DAYS!!!!

Author Interview: Krista & Becca Ritchie

SO excited to interview you two again, Krista and Becca! ❤

So… *sniffles* This is the LAST book in Lily and Lo’s POV. What do you two have to say about that? (It’s definitely a bittersweet thing for me.)

Krista: It’s extremely bittersweet! I love Lily & Lo, they’re the couple that started it all and so it’s definitely hard to say goodbye. I think I was in a state of denial for 99% of the writing process. It really wasn’t until that very last chapter that I started bawling my eyes out. But even though it’s the end, I truly do believe it’s the right end for them.

Becca: We were totally in denial all the way through. Then we hit Lily’s last ever POV chapter, and it hit us full force. I love Addicted After All so much because it bridges themes from the beginning of the series, and Lily & Lo’s evolution is truly spotlighted. That’s all I can really say without being too spoilery 😉 But this book has become my favorite so far.

Did either of you cry while writing AAA? Or while writing any of the other books?

Krista: We cry while writing all the time lol! But for AAA it was especially rough, since this is the last book for Lily and Lo. And if I wasn’t wearing my noise cancelation headphones, I could actually hear Becca sobbing while she typed. We usually immerse ourselves into the story so much that if the characters are crying, we’re crying. If they’re laughing, we’re laughing. We’ve even been known to make the same facial expressions they would be making while we write. It’s one of the reasons we could never write in public! People would look at us like we’re crazy.

Becca: What Krista said! We cried a lot during Thrive, but the heavy sobbing came from Addicted After All. I think Kiss the Sky had the least amount of tears but many more laughs 🙂

Do you think readers will cry while reading AAA?

Krista: It just depends what type of reader you are. I know some readers who never cry in books. But if you’re more of an emotional reader *points to self* then I think you might at least tear up. I bawled. But…that’s me 😉

Becca: If you love Lily & Lo, it’ll probably be hard not to cry by the end. But like Krista said, it probably depends what kind of reader you are. As previously told, I’m clearly a heavy crier. I need a box of tissues next to me at all times.

(I’m totally the type of reader who rarely cries, but I have a feeling AAA will bring on the waterworks…)

How would you describe the feel of AAA compared to the other books in the series?

Krista: The other Lily and Lo books are very tortured. They’re at their rock bottom in Addicted to You, Lily reaches another bottom at Addicted for Now, and Lo hits another bottom in Thrive. They’ve been through a hell of a lot, and in Addicted After All they’re much less tortured but they’re still struggling with major life changes. I’m not sure if there is a tone for that. *looks to Becca for a better answer*

Becca: Hmmmm. I agree with Krista that Addicted After All isn’t as tortured as Addicted to You. It’s more light-hearted than possibly the rest of Lily & Lo’s books. They’re really able to be themselves without being saddled twenty-four-seven with their addictions. So light-hearted, a bit of fun, and of course, lots of emotion.

How long exactly is AAA? Is there a page or word count yet?

Krista: We can give you word count. We don’t know the exact page count until the book is formatted into paperback—which happens after the ebook is published. AAA is around 152,000 words. By comparison, Addicted for Now is 149,500 words. So yeah, it’s chubby.

Becca: It’s a big chubby one! Hopefully we’ll have the paperback ready soon. We’re going to hop on it as quickly as we can.

(Hurraaaay for chubby books!! 🙂 )

Will there be any OMFG moments in AAA?

Krista: Oh yeah! The big OMFG moment in AAA should surprise…everyone.

Becca: Yes!! I’m really looking forward to seeing how people react to *that* scene. Hopefully it’s a surprise or shock and whatnot. We didn’t know that people would love Connor’s lap dance in Kiss the Sky as much as they do, so it’s possible my guesses are a little off. But I’m thinking you all will be surprised 🙂

(Eeeep!!! SO excited to read the OMFG moment now!)

How much are you going to miss writing in Lily and Lo’s POV’s?

Krista: Immensely! We try not to think about it too much because then it does start becoming sad. I love, more than anything, writing in Lily’s POV. I love her humor. I love her quirkiness and all her flaws. I just love her. So it’s sad, but I have to remind myself that I have 5 books with her, and I can reread them anytime I want. It’s not the same as writing new material, but it’s better than nothing.

Becca: I adore writing Lo, out of everyone in the series. He’s probably my favorite. But I love where his story ended, and I’m okay with not going back. Because then it’d mean torturing them some more. And if anyone deserves a bit of rest, it’s them.

Do you two have anything to say to the fans that have stuck by Lily and Lo since the beginning?

Krista: We seriously never dreamed that anyone let alone so many people would love these characters enough to last 5 or 7 books with them. It’s just amazing. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading their journey and sticking with it. We hope AAA is everything you wished it to be.

Becca: I think it takes very, very strong people to fall in love with Lily & Lo and to see them for more than their addictions. That’s all they want in life, and the fans of the series—who stand behind them—are giving that to Lily & Lo. It means the world to us.

(Love this!)

Any last words you’d like to say to Lily and Lo? (Even though I know it’s not the last we’ll see of them, we won’t have their POV’s anymore…)

Krista: Oh god. I might start crying again while I write this. Okay *collects oneself* Lily, you’re the one who started it all. Who took us on a huge journey and made all of our dreams come true. You never used to believe in yourself, but we’ve always believed in you. You made us laugh. And you made us cry. Your love story was one we always wanted to share—an epic romance with soul-binding love—and for that we thank you for existing on the pages. For coming to life in one way or another. *looks to Becca* Alright, I’m crying. You’ll have to say your piece to Lo.

Becca: I’m already tearing up. But here I go. Loren Hale, you are not worthless. You never were. Thank you for standing by Lily from beginning to end. And there are so many people standing beside you. You’ve made us see reasons for standing up. Reasons for living life. And continuing on. Your love for Lily has profoundly impacted us, and we’re grateful to be able to share your love story with the world.

(Aaawwwww, so sweet!!)

Okay, because Connor Cobalt is my ULTIMATE BOOK BOYFRIEND, I have to ask for a Connor teaser! *bats eyelashes* Pretty please?

Krista: Ultimate! YESSS! I approve of your book boyfriend choices. But, you know, I’m not biased or anything 😉 And a Connor Cobalt teaser, I’ll leave this for Becca. I’m afraid I’ll say too much.

Becca: Um. Um. Um. We’ve mentioned this briefly, but I think it’s a pretty good teaser for anyone who missed it. Connor is in a bit of a fight with someone throughout AAA. It’s not a leading cast member, but it’s someone that can definitely rival the intelligent smartass. And you all have met his new rival before.

Amour Amour is the next upcoming release after AAA! Is there anything new you can share about it?

Krista: We love writing about families. It’s one of our favorite elements in movies, TV shows, and books. The Addicted series has a huge focus on sibling and parent relationships. And you can also expect to see some family drama in Amour Amour.

Becca: And the circus! We’ve always wanted to read a book that focuses on acrobatic circus (think Cirque Du Soleil) and less carnival. So it’s a bit of an “athletic” book set in Vegas with twenty-somethings. It’s really fun, and it was extremely addicting to write. We had to pry ourselves off the computer.

(I’m SO excited for Amour Amour!)

What are you two working on right now?

Krista: Right now, as of writing this interview, we’re both focused on AAA tour materials. But as soon as we finish, we’re going to start the final revisions of Amour Amour and the early draft of Fuel the Fire.

Becca: We’re also working on bonus material for Connor & Rose plus Ryke & Daisy. There are more than a couple scenes that we’d been itching to write. So in any spare time we have, we jump to it and type away.

(Can’t wait for more bonus material!)

Thank you so much for the interview, Krista and Becca!! I’ll be counting down the days until AAA releases! ❤

Thank you so much for having us on your blog! Your questions were so amazing ❤

Two addicts. One epic love story.

Prepare for the worst.

That’s what Lily and Lo try to do when Jonathan Hale schedules an “important” meeting. The problem: after being swept into the public eye and battling their addictions, they’re not sure what the worst is anymore.

In a sea of many changes—including Ryke & Daisy living with them—Lily realizes that the best part of her fluctuating hormones might just be the worst.

Her sex drive is out of control.

Loren knows that she’s insatiable, but he’s not giving up on her. She’s too much a part of him. And as he carries more and more responsibility, some of the people that he loves doubt his resolve.

In the conclusion to their love story, Lily & Lo stand side-by-side to fight, one last time, for their happily ever after.

Due to the 2-year gap between Addicted for Now (Addicted #2) and Addicted After All (Addicted #3), you must read Thrive (Addicted #2.5) or the Calloway Sisters spin-off series before reading Addicted After All.

Welcome to the first stop on the THRIVE promo tour!! I’m so excited to be a part of the tour, because guess what? The ADDICTED series is amazing!!!! It’s one of my all-time favorite series ever. THRIVE is book #2.5 of the Addicted series, and releases on July 18th! 8 more days until we get Lily and Lo again (I’ve missed them both so much)!! Even though this is book #2.5, it should not be skipped. It shouldn’t be skipped especially if you haven’t read the Calloway Sisters series, because some MAJOR things happen within Thrive’s timeline.

I have for you all the THRIVE PLAYLIST and a fabulous giveaway from the lovely Krista & Becca Ritchie today! So read and listen on to get a feel of what THRIVE will be like!

I leave you with one more note:

EIGHT. MORE. DAYS!!!!

THRIVE PLAYLIST

These are the songs that inspired us while writing Thrive and/or they were songs that we heavily listened to while we wrote the book.

THE THEME SONG

“Set Me Free (Feel My Pain)” by Charli XCX – The entire book and the tone and the feels can be summed up with this one song. It will always remind us of Lily and Lo’s love and their arc in Thrive.

PART ONE

“Sleep Forever” by Portugal. The Man – For some strange reason, Portugal. The Man is always the perfect music to write to. And this song has so many Lily & Lo vibes.

“Grins” by Charli XCX – Another Charli XCX song. Honestly, we love her True Romance album. We listened to this song when we wrote the Comic-Con scene.

“We Are Stars” by The Pierces – Major LiLo feels. Lyrics: I just wanna be loved by you / I see nothing worse than to sail this universe without you.

PART TWO

“Diamonds” by Johnnyswim  – This song has major Connor & Rose feels. Upbeat, inspiring and powerful—it fits them so well during the happiest parts of their journey.

“On You Side” by Safety Suit – This song is also upbeat and reminds us of each couple, especially Lily & Lo. Lyrics: I am on your side, beginning to the end you know / beginning to the end you know / so I am never going to leave you aside / it doesn’t matter where you go

“Burn” by The Pretty Reckless – This is a Loren Hale angst song for us. He has a lot of moments in part two where he’s tested. Lyrics: Here comes the darkness / It’s eating on my soul

“Take Me Church” by Hozier –  Ditto to the “Burn”—this song exudes some serious Loren Hale angst, and it’s great to listen to during some of his scenes.

PART THREE

“My Silver Lining” by First Aid Kit – We listened to this one when we were writing any Ryke & Lo scenes. It reminds us of their complicated relationship, and their individual demons. Lyrics: I don’t know if I’m scared of dying but I’m scared of living too fast, too slow / Regret, remorse, hold on, oh no I’ve got to go

“Basic Instinct” by The Acid  – This one reminds us of Lo and his arc throughout Thrive.

“Skin & Bones” by David J. Roch – Lo again. But unlike Basic Instinct (above) this song we listened to heavily during his scenes towards the end of the book. Lyrics: Don’t lose your soul, you must fight for each breath / Don’t go quietly

“Retrograde” by James Black – We usually write to this song with serious scenes between Lily & Lo or scenes with Jonathan Hale.

“The Cold” by Exitmusic – We wrote a couple huge scenes to this song. It’s one of those powerful tempos that stir your emotions. And it definitely suited the book in a couple instances.

“Bygone” by Volcano Choir – The end of the book, this is a song that just reminds us of Loren Hale the minute it starts playing.

BONUS

“Waiting” by Alice Boman – We just discovered this song, and we think it really fits Lily and Lo’s overall story—not just Thrive. They’ve been waiting for each other for a while. To overcome all their demons and struggles. They’ve been waiting to be together fully and without restraint.

Two years will change them forever.

When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much?

Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon.

And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown.

A full-length New Adult Romance that bridges the gap between the second and third books. Thrive must be read before Addicted After All if you have not read the Calloway Sisters spin-off
