A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.

I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.

He’s the fastest, fiercest driver around.

Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep…
but his smile sends me to my knees.

The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He’s secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss….

This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I’m supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. But it’s an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation…or your curse.

He says he wants me. He says I’m the One. But he also thinks he’ll break my heart, one piece at a time until it’s gone.

Racer is a book I never knew I needed in the Real series! Racer is Brooke and Remy’s baby boy, but he’s all grown up now, and he’s just as potent, virile, and charming as his father was. But he didn’t take up fighting like his father – instead, he fulfilled his name’s destiny and lives to race cars.

All I know is that this guy is not just a star, he’s a comet, someone with rare talent that is near impossible to find. Sometimes there are drivers that when you watch them drive, you know they are destined for greatness. This guy is one of them….
But does he have it to shine in F1?

Lana Heyworth is desperate to find someone that will save her father’s Formula One team, which is standing on its last legs. Flying out to St. Petersburg, she hopes to see potential in some indie drivers, but on the way to the race, she bumps her car into a guy who steals her spot and has no driving etiquette… and is the most beautiful man she has ever seen.

There’s something inside of me screaming her name. Something like I’ve known her my whole life. Something the moment I locked eyes on her that whispered, you’re going to marry this chick. This girl is going to own you, and you’re going to own her, and that’s that.

Racer Tate never expects to meet the love of his life that fateful day in St. Petersburg, or to have the opportunity of a lifetime to participate in the F1. Because he’s not just an illegal car racer, but the BEST one out there. He has the raw skill and talent that it takes to win and take number one – he knows it and he’s going to prove that to Lana. All the while winning and claiming her heart for his own. But there are challenges he faces along the way, because he inherited not only his dad’s looks, strength, and determination… but also his Bipolar I disorder. Will Racer have what it takes to win the race, win the girl, and not let his BP-I define him?

Patience, I hear my father say, Rome wasn’t built in a day … and nobody said it was easy to fall in love with a Tate.

I adored this book SO hard. Katy Evans never disappoints with her epic love stories and intense alpha males. Racer is definitely up there with his father and the other heroes of the Real series. I also adored Lana and how much she wanted Racer, but didn’t want to fall immediately into bed with him. Their romance is slow and full of tension, which balanced perfectly well with the adrenaline and suspense of the F1 races. If you love Katy Evans, you will NOT be disappointed with Racer. It’s a beautiful romance that is as sexy as it is sweet, with all the excitement that is car racing!

“I’ve never loved anything in my life the way I love you. My crasher. You looked at me with these two eyes …  and I haven’t been able to see anything else. You little witch, you crashed my single party.”

I’m still reeling. While people approach him, he cuts a path straight to me, his gaze penetrating and target-like; making me want to bolt.

His lips do that little upward tilt they do that seems so sexy, and for a second, I feel like I’m lightheaded.

I gulp, and then feel mad at myself for acting like some idiot as fucking devil-Racer Tate reaches me, throws himself into a seat next to me, and turns to look at me expectantly with the most gorgeous grin on his face.

I don’t know what to say.

This guy has left me sort of speechless.

“So … ” I say, staring in the distance at his beat-up mustang, then at him.

“So … ” he says too, in his deep voice, his smile a little more wicked than it was two seconds ago. He glances at my mouth.

Oh god.

Why am I licking my lips?

It only made his eyes narrow and darken.

I open my mouth to speak, failing to find words. He smells like sweat and soap and shampoo, and I feel my traitorous nipples push up to my top again. Why do they do that when he’s around?

“This is illegal,” I state.

His voice is husky from exertion, and his eyes glint with laughter. “That’s why it’s fun.”

I look away from his eyes, trying to focus and clear my head. He leans over and peers into my face, his face shadowed by the moonlight and his jaw now carrying a little scruff. “Are we in agreement?” he presses.

“No.” I glare and shake my head, meeting his cocky gaze. “You’re reckless, Racer.”

“So are you, Alana.”

“It’s just … Lana.”

His brows fly up in surprise. “And a bit of a liar too.”

I purse my lips, still glaring as my gaze goes back to his car. Girls are rubbing against it as if it were him, and I find it disgusting. Why are women always acting so slutty around race car drivers and bad boys?

“You crashed your car,” I say flippantly.

“You crashed my car,” he contradicts, amused.

I laugh, then scowl in his direction. “You crashed it more. I can’t believe you were making such a fuss about me crashing into you when it was just a little kiss—”

He leans in to peck my lips—fast but firmly. “That’s a kiss.”

I lose my breath.

My eyes wide.

He eases back, lips smiling as he comes to his feet and stretches his hand out to take me by the elbow and help me to my feet.

“Let’s get out of here.” He starts walking, leading the way.

“And go where?”

“Anywhere I can get my hands on you.”

Can love really conquer all?—Book Six in Katy Evans’s breakout New York Times bestselling series that began with REAL.

Maverick “The Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he’s known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He’s got a personal score to settle with the Underground’s one and only Remington “Riptide” Tate.

As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town—and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she’s none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who’s supposed to root against him and a girl he’s supposed to stay away from.

But Mav fights for the woman in his heart and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them, and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion—the ultimate LEGEND.

“I want to be a legend.”

AHHHH!!!!! I’ve already found my favorite book of 2016 so far – Katy Evans’ Legend is BRILLIANT!! Just the PERFECT ending to a series I utterly adore. Katy wows me every time I read one of her books, but Legend just might be my favorite of hers yet. Seriously, I loved everything about Legend so. much. From the adorable heroine, to the alpha hero, to the epic ending… This book was everything I expected and more. If you’re a fan of the Real series, you absolutely need to get your hands on this final book!

For the summer, Reese Dumas is moving in with her cousin Brooke, Brooke’s husband Remy, and their son Racer. Reese is there to babysit Racer, but she’s also there to basically find herself. She has issues with self-esteem and confidence, so she wants to take the time with the Tates to work on herself, mentally and physically. And it’s at a gym where she meets Maverick, a fighter with whom she forms an indelible connection. He’s gorgeous, quiet, and a little mysterious, and all Reese wants to do is unravel every piece of him the way he does her.

He gives me this rebel vibe. Like he’d rather say I’m sorry than may I, and maybe not even the “sorry” at all. There’s a fierce passion in his features and a kindled fire in his eyes. I admire passionate people. People who burn out everyone around them, they’re so passionate, they want so much, they crave so much.

Maverick “The Avenger” Cage is on a mission of his own to fight in the Underground and work his way up to the top and become the champion. He wants to prove that he’s worth more than what he got from his neglectful father and that he’s an even better fighter than his father was. My heart fell for Maverick right from the start – he’s a little rough around the edges, but he’s got the biggest heart, and the determination and strength within him had me in awe.

Maverick and Reese. Reese and Maverick. I loved these two individually and I loved these two together. And heads up, they are utter PERFECTION together. Their powerful love story gripped my heart and didn’t let go even after I finished the book. Katy Evans knows how to write love in its most primal, raw, intense way – I was completely swept away by Reese and Maverick’s love for one another.

I’m memorizing her. It’ll take me forever, but I’m dedicated and I want to memorize every tiny inch and pore with my eyes and my fingers and my tongue.

I’m always such a sucker for Katy Evans’ alpha heroes, and Maverick is just breath-taking. I’m obsessed with him. Not only is he fiercely dedicated to becoming the champion, his love and devotion for Reese blow me away. When he falls, he falls so hard – Maverick is the sweetest alpha-male I’ve ever read!

“You’re priceless. Gold. Not gold, you’re the whole fucking mine to me. Do you know that?”

What surprised me in this book was the connection Maverick also forms with Remy. Remy is the current champion of the Underground, but Maverick is the only one to come close to Remy’s fighting level. As the two of them bond over their practice fights together, Remy becomes somewhat of a father-figure to Maverick. Every scene with the two of them together had me full-on smiling because there was just something wonderful and inspiring how they pushed each other to become the best fighter and man they could be.

We come full circle in the series with the epic ending in Legend. I honestly can’t imagine a more perfect ending for the series. This book is perfection – I swooned, I sighed, I gasped… I felt every word of Legend. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll be happy to know there is lots of Remy, Brooke, and Racer, both from Reese and Maverick’s perspectives. And if you haven’t read the series yet, you’re missing out on some powerful love stories and swoony, sexy alpha-males. It’s a bittersweet ending for sure that the series is over, but only Katy Evans could have me finishing Legend with a giddy smile on my face.

SEATTLE

Maverick

‘Not in a million years, kid.’

‘No.’

‘NOT INTERESTED.’

‘Get the fuck out of my face!’

Four cities in two days, and more doors slammed in my face than I can count. I sling my backpack over my shoulder and scratch another name from my list.

Hopping on to a bus and hopping off thirty minutes later, I scan the mix of both commercial and apartment numbers down the block, then knock on my last door.

“Coach Hennesy?”

He’s a tall man, his hair like pepper, clad in sweats, with a yellow timer hanging from his neck. He gives me a questioning look.

“I’m your next champion.”

He laughs, but then he must see something on my face. In my stance. Thirst, resoluteness, guts. Maybe I’m wearing my balls in my eyes. He falls sober and swings the door wide-open. “Come on in.”

He doesn’t ask for my name.

I guess with one look, he knows he’ll find my name in the dictionary, right next to “determined.”

He leads me to his garage. “Where’d you train before?” he asks.

“Self-taught. I watch videos.”

He scoffs, then shrugs. “Okay, let’s see what you’ve got.”

I eye the equipment across the room. The heavy bag hangs from the ceiling, the leather worn from other fighters before me. There’s a boxing dummy at the corner. Speed bag. Weights. A whole private gym set up here. I drop both my bags, then zip open my backpack and start to put on the gloves without bothering to remove my hoodie.

“Take that off; I need to know what you’ve got. Need to see your form,” Hennesy says.

I clench my jaw. Slowly unzip my hoodie. Take it off and glance past my shoulder, shifting to keep my back from the coach’s view. The guy is clearing the fighting area. Good. We can get down to business. He walks to me when I face him.

“Give it over.” I hand him my hoodie and he tosses it aside, then crosses his arms and looks at me. “Speedball first.”

I inhale, position myself before the speedball, and hit. Wham.

I keep on hitting, lightning fast, my fists making the bag fly.

I would have warmed up first, but I’ve been doing this for days, and I won’t stop until I’ve got myself a coach—and not even then.

I’ve got momentum now, and I pick up speed, my arms moving back and forth, working the speed bag until it’s moving so fast you can’t even see it.

I’m starting to sweat; it’s stuffy in here, but I can’t stop. I need him to take me on. I need one yes to get me in the ring. Just one yes and I’ll do the rest.

“Time.” Hennesy stops me. He signals to the boxing dummy and the heavy bag. “Let’s see you pound the bag.”

I swing out and slam my knuckles on the bag, putting everything into my fists. Thack, thump, thud.

Hennesy’s composure starts to crumble with excitement. “Holy shit, boy!”

I’m getting in to it. I’m in the zone—where it’s just me, the leather brown bag, my fists, and nothing else but slamming the spot I’m looking at.

“I’ve seen enough.” He stops the bag from swinging. His eyes glassy. “Fill this out.”

I pull off my right glove and grab a pen as he slaps a paper onto a desk at the corner. I bend down to fill out my name and contact information and realize, too late, that I exposed the tattoo on my back.

“You’re his boy.”

I freeze midsignature.

A second ticks by. Then two.

I slowly set the pen down and take one last look at the paper. I might not get to fill it out after all. I turn.

His face has paled.

I wait it out for a few beats. Maybe he’s different. Maybe he can deal with it.

He tosses my jacket at me. “Get out. Nobody wants to see you fight.”

I frown fiercely as I catch my jacket in my fist and edge forward, equally mad now. “That’s too damn bad. ’Cause I’m fighting anyway.”

I keep my eyes on him as I pull off my left glove, shove my arms into my hoodie, and zip up.

I walk out and the door slams behind me. I clench my jaw, and I shove my gloves into my bag and spot the old, black gloves inside too. I push them down into the bottom of the duffel bag and zip it up.

The season starts in a week and a half. No coach? No fight. I can’t even get into a gym.

But I won’t let anyone or anything keep me from the ring.

I pick up a penny from the ground.

And I spot a girl in workout clothes across the street, tying her shoelaces. She’s a step away from the gym door. I straighten, pull my hoodie over my head, and cross the street, following after her like I belong.

Source: I received an ARC from the publisher (Gallery Books) in exchange for an honest review

A ripped rock star with attitude. An ex-girlfriend with a reckless plan.

Pandora assumed getting her heartbroken by her bad boy ex could only happen once–until Mackenna Jones comes back to town for the biggest concert of his career. They say girls are getting pregnant just thinking about the Crack Bikini tour and it’s destined to be a huge hit.

Oh, it’ll be a hit alright–when Pandora comes out swinging. She and her friend Melanie are determined to humiliate him onstage. But when they’re caught by security and her ex is summoned, Mackenna decides not to press charges if she’ll join him on tour and follow certain conditions–rules designed to give him the upper hand and keep her in close contact with him once again. Soon, the passion they once shared is reignited, and no matter how much Pandora wants to hate him, her hard exterior starts to crack.

And worse: Mackenna knows it, too. But he hasn’t uncovered all her secrets…

Katy Evans has done it again! Ripped is another spell-binding, addicting novel in the Real series. Ever since reading Rogue (check out my review), I simply HAD to read Pandora’s story. Ripped was one of my top highly anticipated reads. I NEEDED to know who was the man to turn Pandora into such a hateful, pessimistic woman. And when I got to read her story, I was blown away! Every second of this book is riveting, intense, and oh so sexy. I loved it!

So the man who broke Pandora’s heart? His name is Mackenna Jones, and he is a rock star. No matter how much Pandora wishes to never see Mackenna again, she can’t avoid seeing his face because of his rock star fame. We slowly discover the truth to Pandora and Kenna’s story, about how they once fell in love when they were teenagers, and how they were ripped apart when Kenna left Pandora without a word.

As far as I was concerned, he was it for me, and I for him.
He was my best friend too.
My world broke when I heard he left Seattle.
He didn’t even say goodbye.
The last thing he’d said to me was that he loved me.
Now. I. Hate. Love.

Pandora is filled with bitterness and hatred. Kenna was Pandora’s first everything, and he ruined their love when he left. But Pandora can’t pass up the chance to see him when he comes back to town during his tour. Why does she want to see Kenna when she hates him? So she can throw food at him onstage. And it’s great and all – until she and her friend Melanie get taken by security and she comes face to face with Kenna for the first time in almost six years.

I absolutely loooove second chance romances, and as far as Ripped goes, it’s nearly perfect. There was the perfect amount of angst between Pandora and Kenna that I was hoping and looking for. They still want each other after all these years, but while Kenna wants to start something again, Pandora is adamant about staying away from him. Too bad that because of what happened with Melanie, Pandora is forced to go on tour along with Kenna. And being in such close proximity with him makes him that much harder to resist.

I loved that we also get Kenna’s POV in Ripped. You can easily tell how much Kenna still loves Pandora, even though he doesn’t want to. She was the one girl he had ever loved and now that she’s here, he wants her back for good.

So what if I had to tell myself she didn’t exist? For six years, it worked. But now she’s here. Like some demon–some poltergeist–reminding me of what I wanted as a teen and could never have. Reminding me what I lost. What I’d do to get it back.
Pandora.
My nightmare, my dreams, my walking, talking fantasy.
Here.

There’s an incredibly intense chemistry between Kenna and Pandora, so this book is HOT! Kenna and Pandora fall into bed with each other, but while Pandora just wants to use Kenna, Kenna wants Pandora back in his life forever. So he’ll take what he can get for the moment, but he’ll win her and her love back if it’s the last thing he does.

“I had your heart once, Pink, and it wasn’t enough. I have your body now, but it’s not enough.” He holds my face in order to force my eyes to stay on his as he demands, “I want your mind, your dreams, your hopes, your fucking soul. I want it all.”

I honestly love Katy Evan’s unique writing – it’s what makes these books so utterly riveting and enjoyable. I fell for Pandora and Kenna, these two broken characters. Their story is raw and not without pain, but just like they were meant for each other when they were younger, they’re meant for each other now. I loved that in Ripped, we get the sweet moments and funny moments to go along with the heartache. Reading Ripped had me in a roller coaster of emotions, and I loved it!

If you’re a fan of the Real series, you don’t want to miss Pandora’s story. It’s another fantastic, heartbreaking, heartwarming story from Katy Evans!

HE SAYS HE’S NO GOOD FOR HER.
SHE HATES THAT HE MIGHT BE RIGHT.

Brook Dumas found Remington Tate in REAL, and now it’s her best friend Melanie’s turn to find the man who makes her heart sing. After years of searching, one night in the rain, the strong and mysterious Greyson King comes to her rescue. He’s bold, and maybe just the lover, friend, and protector she’s been searching for. When they make love, he says her name like it means something. Like she means something–and that’s everything she’s ever wanted.

He disappears for days without a word, and when he’s around, he says he’ll only hurt her. Buy when he’s away, her heart hurts more.

Then Melanie uncovers the dark world he’d been determined to keep hidden, and suspects that their random first meeting might have not been so random after all.

Caught in a free fall of emotions, Melanie has no one to catch her but the man she should be running from. . .

But what do you do when your Prince Charming has gone Rogue?

Oh, my heart… Rogue is absolutely perfect! It’s a stunning, phenomenal read that had me riveted from start to finish. I am so in love with Greyson and Melanie’s story, I can’t even describe how much. Their story took my breath away–everything about this book is intense and raw and so freaking goooood. I went through so many emotions while reading–I was swooning one moment, then heartbroken the next. Katy Evans, you ruined me with this book! I loved it!

“I’m going to give you the fucking of your life, princess.”

Oh. My. God. Please have a fan with you when you read Rogue because it is one smokin’ book! Greyson is one of the hottest alpha-males I’ve ever read–he’s sex on a stick, and the things that come out of his mouth are just… perfect. He has one dirty, dirty mouth, Greyson does. God, I love this man so much!

The book is told through Melanie and Greyson’s alternating POVs, which I found added immensely to the story. We get to know what’s going on in both of their heads, which I was so happy for because I LOVED Greyson’s POV! Not saying I didn’t love Melanie’s either, but Katy Evans is fantastic at writing from a male perspective! Actually, to be honest, I love ALL of Katy’s writing–it’s unique and pulls you in until you can’t stop reading.

FUCK HER PRINCE CHARMING.
She’s getting me.

Melanie is the quintessential girly girl who loves all things feminine. She’s had dreams about finding her Prince Charming since she was a little girl, and she still holds on to the hope that she’ll find him some day. Melanie is such a sweet girl, and I totally connected with her from the start. But even though Melanie is such a happy girl, her quest for Prince Charming does take its toll on her–she sleeps with men, ‘kissing frogs’ hoping they’ll be THE ONE, but she only gets hurt time and again. My heart went out to Melanie, because she’s the kind of girl you wish would never get hurt. I loved her determination to never give up, despite the number of times her heart was broken.

Then one day, she meets Greyson. Greyson, a man who fires her up like no one ever has. She connects with him on a visceral level, and there is an explosive chemistry between them. Their chemistry is hot and powerful, and Katy Evans’s writing is so well done that I could feel it coming off the pages.

Suddenly, every fiber in my body, my sober body, tells me his is the one.
He is the one.
The one who’s going to wreck me. Hurt me. Demolish me. The one who is going to remove every inch of the girl in me. He will be the memory I will never forget, and good or bad, he will be THE one I dream of.

When Melanie and Greyson come together, it’s passionate and beautiful. I was completely immersed in them, in their romance. What was supposed to be only one night between them turns out to be so much more, but what Melanie doesn’t know is that Greyson is keeping a huge secret from her.

Greyson is a bad, bad man. He is known as Zero in the Underground world, and his job is to make sure that the people who owe the Underground pay up. And if they can’t… well, bad things happen. As Zero, Greyson is hard, cold, and unforgiving, but when Melanie falls into his life, nothing is the same.

I have never, ever wanted anything the way I want those green eyes to memorize me the way I’ve made it a religion to memorize her.

I love, looove, and absolutely adore how much Greyson loves his Princess. I never though I’d actually like the endearment Princess, but the way Greyson uses it for Melanie makes me swoon so hard for him. He’s an alpha-male to the max, so he’s protective, possessive and obsessive of Melanie, but in the best way possible. He wants all of her, but there’s no doubt that she has all of him.

“You got me, princess. Jesus! Do you not see what you’re doing to me? You have all of me, Melanie. I’m states away and I feel like half a man, I feel like I’ll tear something apart if I don’t see you soon with my own two eyes…”

Melanie has found her ONE in Greyson, but her Prince Charming isn’t a good man. But these two are meant for each other–there’s an something between them that can’t be ignored, and I was captivated by their story. I loved reading Rogue so, so much. I never expected this level of raw intensity in a book, but I applaud Katy Evans for writing it so well. Rogue is an emotional, heart-racing read that I never wanted to end. It was just perfect.
