For fans of Christina Lauren and Jodi Ellen Malpas comes the next novel in M. O’Keefe’s breathtakingly sexy series about a woman called into a journey of the heart, body, and soul.

We played our roles, told each other lies.

But now Dylan is no longer just a mysterious deep voice on the other end of the line. We’re face-to-face and our relationship is very, very real.

We still have secrets—but so much is crystal clear:

The thrilling danger.

The raw, naked desire.

The need to keep feeling the way he makes me feel. Forever.

Dylan is putting up walls, trying to keep me safe, but he can’t shut me out. He has seen my darkness and rescued me. Now it’s my turn, if only he will let me.

The whole drive home I told myself I would stay away from Annie.

That seeing my brother had made me raw. Too raw.

Unfit for her.

I walked directly from my car to my trailer. I even kicked off my shoes. But when I went to charge my phone, I could not resist looking at the picture she’d sent.

And looking at it, her pale flesh, her hands between her legs, only made me worse. More . . . dangerous.

But in the end, even while I was telling myself not to, I grabbed two condoms from the stash in the bathroom and walked straight to her trailer door. In the darkest part of the night. The darkest thoughts running through my head.

You’re gonna scare her, I told myself. Knocks on the door in the middle of the night never bring good news.

Well, I’m not fucking good news, am I?

I knocked and waited, my hands braced on the cool metal of her RV. I heard a small thump and the sound of her padding to the door, and I hung my head.

Resigned to this dark thing.

The door opened and there she was, rumpled and sweet. Her hair messy, her eyes barely open.

“Dylan?”

“Open the door, Annie.”

Something in my voice, some command, some need I was barely keeping in line, must have penetrated and her eyes opened wide. Her mouth, those sweet lips, opened, revealing the wet edge of her tongue. The shine of her teeth.

Fuck. That mouth . . .

“What are you going to do, Dylan?” she breathed back at me. A challenge. She was not scared and she was not unaware.

“I’m going to fuck you.”

Her pale hand, hazy through the screen, reached forward and popped open the door. I threw it open and then slammed it shut behind me once I was inside. Both doors, until it was just us in this trailer.

Molly O’Keefe has always known she wanted to be a writer (except when she wanted to be a florist or a chef and the brief period of time when she considered being a cowgirl). And once she got her hands on some romances, she knew exactly what she wanted to write.

She published her first Harlequin romance at age 25 and hasn’t looked back. She loves exploring every character’s road towards happily ever after.

Originally from a small town outside of Chicago, she went to university in St. Louis where she met and fell in love with the editor of her school newspaper. They followed each other around the world for several years and finally got married and settled down in Toronto, Ontario. They welcomed their son into their family in 2006, and their daughter in 2008. When she’s not at the park or cleaning up the toy room, Molly is working hard on her next novel, trying to exercise, stalking Tina Fey on the internet and dreaming of the day she can finish a cup of coffee without interruption.

From the author of All the Right Places, a sweet and sexy romance about finding the right words and the perfect fit…

Love can take some time to break in…

Teagan O’Brien, heiress to the Riley O’Brien & Co. denim empire, is anything but a spoiled rich girl. She’s worked hard to secure her place in the family business and can hold her own, in and out of the office. Only one man has ever been able to get under her skin—sexy football star Nick Priest. Years ago they crossed the line from friends to lovers, but he left her heartbroken. Since then, she’s been determined to keep him at arm’s length—no matter how tempting he looks in his jeans…

Nick has fortune, fame, and looks that make most women hot and bothered. But he doesn’t have the woman he really wants. He knows he screwed up when he walked away from Teagan, and now that he has a second chance, he’ll do whatever it takes to win her over—no matter how tongue-tied he gets…

I am always up for reading a second chance romance, since it’s one of my favorite tropes, but lately, the second chance romances I’ve read have been let-downs. While I liked Coming Apart at the Seams well enough, overall, it was an okay read. I got bored a few times and the story dragged a bit, but it was still a good read. It’s sexy, a little angsty, and I really enjoyed reading about a hero who’s determined to take his second chance with the heroine and make up for all the hurts he caused her in the past.

Blunder. Gaffe. Misstep. Error. Snafu. Although plenty of words described the huge, life-altering mistake Nick Priest had made, none of them quite conveyed his stupidity. He’d had a chance with Teagan O’Brien, but he’d blown it. That was his biggest regret, and he had a lot of them.

I really liked the way the author presents Teagan and Nick’s relationship over the years to the reader. First, we’re set in the present, with Nick regretting hurting Teagan and not fighting for her in the past… but he sure as hell is fighting for her now. He knows he messed up years ago, but he’s determined to win back the only woman he’s ever loved. Then, gradually, Nick and Teagan’s past relationship is revealed, and I really adored the way these two grew to be such good friends, even best friends. They felt a connection with one another, and even though they were attracted to each other, they didn’t want to risk their friendship over it. But one night of temptation and passion changes everything, and in the end, leaves both of them hurt – and alone.

I love you. I loved you then, and I love you now. Please give me another chance. I’m miserable without you, and I’m afraid of what the rest of my life will be like if you’re not with me.

Nick has a severe stutter, which has affected his relationship with his father, and inadvertently, his relationship with Teagan. He felt like he wouldn’t be good enough for her, since he wasn’t good enough for his father, so sadly, he made mistakes, but now in the present, he’s going to fight for the woman he loves, even if it seems she hates him. Both Nick and Teagan are flawed people, and while I understood Nick’s reasons for hurting Teagan in the past and Teagan’s reasons for not letting Nick near her heart again, I grew a little frustrated with them. Miscommunication played a big part in their broken relationship, which is something I usually get annoyed reading about. Although, I was very impressed with the way Teagan stood firm in not forgiving Nick, at least not right away. She definitely makes him work for it, for her and her love, and I admired that she’s so stubborn about it.

Overall, Coming Apart at the Seams is a sweet second chance romance, with a little friends-to-lovers mixed in. If the pacing of the book had moved a little faster, I probably would have enjoyed it more, but for those of you who like your romances slow-paced, I would recommend this. This book also sets up the romance in the next book a bit, and I’m intrigued enough by the couple that I’m looking forward to read it!

Former tennis player Easton Bradbury is trying to be the best teacher she can be, trying to reach her bored students and trying to forget her past. What brought her to this stage in her life isn’t important. She can’t let it be. But now one parent-teacher meeting may be her undoing…

Meeting Tyler Marek for the first time makes it easy for Easton to see why his son is having trouble in school. The man knows how to manage businesses and wealth, not a teenage boy. Or a young teacher, for that matter, though he tries to. And yet…there is something about him that draws Easton in—a hint of vulnerability, a flash of attraction, a spark that might burn.

Wanting him is taboo. Needing him is undeniable. And his long-awaited touch will weaken Easton’s resolve—and reveal what should stay hidden…

Oh. My. God! You guys, I loved Misconduct. SO FREAKING MUCH. It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and it was perfect! Hot, sexy as hell, and utterly perfect! I honestly couldn’t stop grinning (and fanning myself) the whole time I was reading it. I’ve adored all of Penelope Douglas’s books, but I have to say, Misconduct is her HOTTEST one yet. Seriously, the hero is the sexiest DILF I’ve ever read – everyone needs to experience the wonder that is Tyler Marek. 😉

I loooove me some taboo in my romances, so Misconduct is a match made in heaven for me. It’s got a unique twist to it too – it’s not a teacher/student romance, but a teacher/student’s parent romance! So the hero is older, more established, sexier… all sorts of yummy. The heroine, Easton Bradbury, is an ex-tennis player who’s just starting her job as a teacher at a prestigious private school. She’s my favorite kind of heroine – ballsy, feisty, a spitfire, and not afraid to stand her ground against the hero. She’s got a few quirks to her, which made her all the more likable, and a past that had me intrigued.

Now, Tyler… He’s delicious. A total jerk in the beginning, but Penelope Douglas writes him in such an intense, sensual way that I couldn’t help but grudgingly love him (Penelope is just so good at writing lovable jerks). He’s the single father of Christian, one of Easton’s students. He’s ambitious, a powerful man in New Orleans, and deeply, maddeningly attracted to his son’s teacher. But if he decides to pursue a relationship with her – sexual or more – he runs the risk of losing his son, reputation, his bid to becoming Senator… everything.

But now here she was, my kid’s teacher, dangerous and forbidden, which only increased her allure, and she’d been just as hot tonight as she’d been on that balcony all those months ago—the different being now I couldn’t fucking touch her.

Easton and Tyler are smokin’ HOT together! Just, WOW. Even before any bedroom activity happens, these two were setting my kindle on fire. There’s a fine line between love and hate for these two, and Penelope Douglas writes their tumultuous relationship perfectly. And the forbidden aspect only made the chemistry between them even hotter.

“You belong in my bed every night, and I fucking hate that I can’t have you there,” he gritted out, his hands working between our bodies. “I want to buy you shit just to have you throw it back in my face, and I want to fly you to Fiji just so I can rip a bikini off of you.”

(Like, holy fucking hotness, RIGHT!? There’s more where that came from… so… READ THIS BOOK.)

Easton and Tyler’s story blew me away. But I love that we get so much more than just their romance. Penelope Douglas delves deeply into Easton’s unique method of teaching, which I actually really enjoyed reading. And Tyler, the ambitious man that he is, is stretched so thin between Easton, his son, his company, and trying to run for Senator that he needs to learn to make sacrifices for the things that mean the most to him. He wants to have it all, but he can’t, so will he make changes and put those he loves first in his life for once?

I love the way Penelope Douglas writes. Her books never fail to hook me in and keep me riveted to each page. She has such talent at creating characters that you root for from the very beginning, and at writing addicting stories you don’t want to let go of. And if you couldn’t already tell, Misconduct is another winner from one of my favorite authors. It’s a book that proves why Penelope Douglas continues to be one of my top authors. Everything about this book is fantastic, sexy, well-rounded, well-written, and I can’t recommend it enough.

“Good morning. Tyler Marek’s office,” a woman’s pleasant voice chirped. “How can I help you?”

My heart pounded in my ears, and I could feel the pulse in my neck throb. I held back, almost wishing he wasn’t in his office after all.

I needed time to calm down.

But I swallowed and pushed forward anyway. “Yes, hello,” I rushed out.

“Easton, keep your cool,” I heard my brother warn from my side.

I bit my lip to keep the anger out of my voice. “I’m Easton Bradbury calling for Mr. Marek,” I told her. “I’m sure he’s not in today, but—”

“Just a moment, please,” she interrupted, and disappeared.

I sucked in a breath, realizing that he was in after all.

“Marek?” my brother asked. “Tyler Marek?”

I glanced at him, arching an eyebrow in annoyance.

“Easton, get off the call,” Jack ordered.

His arm shot out, trying to grab the phone, but I slapped his hand away.

“Watch the road!” I barked, pointing at the street ahead.

“Easton, I’m serious,” he growled. “Tyler Marek has a workforce of more than ten thousand people. He may be a senator, for crying out loud. It isn’t your place to argue with him.”

I shot him a look. My place?

My brother was worried about his career, but I didn’t care who Marek was. He was still a man.

Nothing but a man.

“Ms. Bradbury.”

I turned my head away from my brother, suddenly hearing Marek’s voice in my ear.

Thick anticipation filled my chest, and I dropped my eyes, disappointed that I was actually excited.

“Mr. Marek,” I replied curtly, remembering why I had called. “I received your e-mail, and I’d love to . . .” I trailed off, wiping the sweat off my hairline. “I’d love to schedule a meeting to sit down and work out a plan for Christian.”

“We’ve already met,” he pointed out, his voice clipped. “And it was not a productive use of my time, Ms. Bradbury.”

I tried reasoning. “Mr. Marek, we both want what’s best for your son. If we work together—”

“Ms. Bradbury.” He cut me off, and I could hear people talking in the background. “Apparently I wasn’t clear enough in my e-mail, so let me save us both some time. My son has no problems with any other teacher, so it goes without saying that you’re the problem.” His stern voice cut me, and I felt like shrinking. “You suffer from an overindulged sense of entitlement, and you forget that your job is on a yearly contract.”

My eyes widened, taking in his threat that my job this year could belong to someone else next year. I fisted the hem of the skirt at my thigh.

“Now, I’m a busy man,” he continued, sounding condescending, “and I don’t have time for silly young women who don’t know their place.”

My skin stung from where my fingernail dug in. His son didn’t have problems with me. Perhaps I graded harder than other teachers, and I might have had unorthodox methods, but most of the students enjoyed my class, including Christian. When he participated. If he ever challenged me, it was because his father wouldn’t allow him the freedom to have the tools to participate like all the other students.

“Now, can I get on with my day and consider this issue settled?” he sniped.

Heat spread over my skin, and I bared my teeth. “You can go to hell,” I shot back, raging. “No wonder he can’t stand you.”

“Easton!” Jack burst out next me.

But it was too late. My eyes widened, and my hand tingled, nearly losing grip on the phone.

What the hell did I just say?

Early Review: Forgetting August by J.L. Berg

Series: Lost & Found #1 (full reading order below)
Publication Date: December 1st 2015

She can forgive, but can she forget?

Some days, Everly still thinks she sees him. In the food court at the mall, or in a car speeding past as the light changes. It only lasts a second, but when it happens, she slips back to a time when she was ruled-and nearly ruined-by August Kincaid. And it doesn’t matter that she’s moved on, that she’s about to marry another man. In those moments the only thing she can do to regain control is take a deep breath and remind herself that August can’t hurt her-because he’s in a coma. Except that he’s not anymore.

August is awake. With no memories, he sets out to solve the mystery of his lost life. He unearths a photograph of a beautiful redhead named Everly and knows instinctively that she’s the key. But when he finds her, the August she describes is more monster than man.

Tortured by the thought of having hurt her, August wants only to become the man Everly deserves. As the new August emerges, Everly glimpses the person she first fell in love with. But can she trust that this August is real? When the final secret of their shared past is revealed, one of them will make a choice that changes their future forever . . .

Could the heart remember what the mind couldn’t?

The second I read the blurb for Forgetting August, I knew I HAD to read it. It’s such a compelling, intriguing blurb, right!? I had so many questions going into Forgetting August, and while some of them are answered by the end, I’m still desperate to know the rest. I really enjoyed this book – while I didn’t quite love it like I wanted to, it’s a unique, intriguing read that I couldn’t put down. I had some problems with it, but overall, Forgetting August is suspenseful and gorgeously written, with a fascinating love story that I’m still not quite sure what to make of.

August Kincaid has woken up from a two-year coma with no recollection of who he is. He has no memories of his past… a past that Everly Adams can’t seem to escape from. She’s haunted by her memories of August – he was her first love, but over the years they were together, that love turned into something bitter and toxic. August went from sweet and loving to controlling and manipulative – and his coma was the one thing that gave Everly the freedom to get away from his emotional abuse.

Now, Everly is in love with and engaged to a kind-hearted man who is the total opposite of everything August was at the end of his and Everly’s relationship. But when she finds out that August is awake, her life is once again thrown into emotional turmoil. Can she reconcile the post-coma August who wants to make amends for the person he doesn’t remember being, with the past-August who very nearly ruined her life? And can she forgive a man who doesn’t remember what he did to her?

How my former self had neglected such a precious treasure, I’d never understand. But now that I had a second chance, I’d give everything to right my wrongs.
Even if I didn’t remember them.

I really felt for August and Everly. August is confused and utterly lost after he wakes from his coma, but the one thing he knows is that Everly was – and is – important to him. With Everly’s reluctant help, he navigates through his past, trying to piece together his missing past, and as they spend more time together, the love between them that never disappeared grows once again.

Love should be simple.
Life may be difficult, but loving someone…whether it’s right or wrong, that should be the easy part.
And loving August had always been as easy as breathing.

I was in as much emotional turmoil as Everly was as I read this book. Should Everly trust in August again, only for him to turn back into the controlling man she hated? Would she be able to survive it if he did? What would happen between her and her fiancé, Ryan? I completely understood Everly’s dilemma with August, but her back-and-forth with the two men got a little repetitive and I felt pretty bad for Ryan. I wouldn’t really consider this book one with a love triangle, since it’s pretty clear who Everly is meant to be with, so for those of you who don’t like love triangles, I’d still recommend this book.

I would’ve given Forgetting August 4 stars but… I guess it was a little less dramatic and angsty than I’d hoped. Other than the ‘OMG what’s going to happen next’ suspenseful feeling I had throughout the book, I didn’t really feel anything else. I liked Everly and August and sympathized with them, I didn’t really feel an emotional connection with them. Still, Forgetting August is an entertaining book with plenty of twists and turns that keep you hooked and wanting more. The writing is absolutely amazing – this is the first book I’ve read from J.L. Berg and I really need to read more! Right now, I’m so excited for the sequel, Remembering Everly, especially after that cliffhanger in Forgetting August. I desperately need all my questions answered and I NEED to know what happens with Everly, August, and Ryan!

Audiobook Review: Tempt Me Like This by Bella Andre

Tempt Me Like This by Bella Andre

Tempt Me Like This by Bella Andre
Series: The Morrisons #2 (full reading order below)
Audiobook Publication Date: November 17th 2015
Length: 8 hours and 55 minutes
Narrated by: Eva Kaminsky

As one of the biggest rock stars in the business, Drew Morrison can have anything—and anyone—he wants. Only Ashley Emmit, who has joined his tour to work on a college research project, is completely off-limits. Drew promised her father that, once the tour was over, he would send her home pure and untouched by the rock ’n’ roll world. But he has never been so tempted by anyone in his entire life. How is he going to make it through this tour without giving in to the urge to drag her into his arms and kiss her breathless?

Ashley has always lived by the rules. But from the moment she meets Drew, none of those rules make sense anymore. Not only does Drew’s music affect her deeply…but she’s never wanted to kiss anyone so badly. Not that a magnetic star like Drew would ever feel the same way about a brainiac like her, of course. And even if he did, she knows from painful experience that two people as different as they are simply don’t belong together.

But when the attraction between Drew and Ashley burns hotter every moment they’re together on the tour bus—and they begin to share their deeply hidden and emotional secrets—will either of them be able to resist temptation? Or could giving in to their feelings lead them straight toward a love they never saw coming…

I absolutely LOVE Bella Andre’s audiobooks – Eva Kaminsky is one of my favorite narrators, so her narration and Bella Andre’s sweet, romantic love stories are perfection for me. While Tempt Me Like This isn’t my favorite of Ms. Andre’s, it’s still a fantastic, heart-warming book I adored listening to. If you love Bella Andre’s audiobooks, you don’t want to miss this one!

Ashley Emmit lands herself the position of a lifetime – following rock star Drew Morrison on tour. While Ashley expects to be over the moon over the rock star, who she’s had a crush on ever since he got famous, she never expects to actually get up-close and personal with the man… And she never expects to fall for his kind-hearted, sweet, gorgeous heart.

Drew has never been tempted by anything quite like Ashley – except this woman is completely off limits to him. The chemistry and physical attraction between them burns hotter every day they spend together, but the more Drew gets to know Ashley and be inspired by her, the more he can’t resist wanting her and wanting to be with her. So Drew is determined to prove that his feelings her Ashley are real and to make her see that the two of them are meant to be together.

Music plays a huge part in both Drew and Ashley’s lives, and I adored how they bonded over it. I could really feel the emotional connection that grows between the two of them, and I enjoyed their romance so much. Tempt Me Like This is another winner from Bella Andre, and of course, Eva Kaminsky narrates it flawlessly. If you love listening to sweet romances with swoon-worthy heroes and not a lot of drama, then I’d highly recommend this audiobook!
