Knox Jagger. The name inspires resent in every male at Sinclair University, want in every female, and contempt in Charlie Chase.

Charlie can be summed up in three words: independent, independent, and independent. To Charlie, Knox epitomizes everything that’s wrong with college males: prolific one-night stands, drunken senseless fights, and a body that hints at prioritizing gym time over study time.

As an up-and-coming writer for Sinclair University’s newspaper, Charlie’s tasked with getting to the bottom of who’s been dropping little white pills into girls’ drinks at parties. In an ocean of All-American boys sporting polo shirts and innocent smiles, Knox is the obvious suspect. As evidence piles up against the bad boy of Sinclair, Charlie becomes more and more certain it isn’t Knox. But when her drink is dosed at a party and she wakes up on Knox’s couch the next morning, Charlie’s left with more questions than answers when it comes to Knox Jagger.

How can Charlie ever hope to uncover the truth behind a guy so closed off he’s become . . .

Hard Knox.

about the author

I’m the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the CRASH series (HarperTeen, S&S UK), LOST & FOUND series, UP IN FLAMES (S&S UK), The EDEN TRILOGY, and a handful of others. I write stories about everyday kinds of people who find themselves in extraordinary kinds of situations. I tell love stories with happy endings because I believe in making the world a better place, and that’s one tiny way I can make it so. I’m one of those people who still believe in true love and soul mates, and would rather keep my head in the clouds any day over having my feet firmly on the ground.

Top Ten Character Names I Love

One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean

1. CrossOne Good Earl Deserves a Lover (The Rules of Scoundrels #2) by Sarah MacLean

Pippa’s breath caught as the man emerged, tall and lanky and unshaven. He was in his shirtsleeves, cuffs rolled up, and her gaze flew to those long, lean forearms, where muscle curved and rippled over bone. Her mouth went dry. She’d never thought of the forearm as being particularly interesting, but then it was not every day that she saw such a fine specimen.

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

2. Warner – Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi (Psst, I love Warner’s first name too!)

He looks immaculate.
Flawless, especially as he stands here among the dirt and destruction, surrounded by the bleakest colors this landscape has to offer. He’s a vision of emerald and onyx, silhouetted in the sunlight in the most deceiving way. He could be glowing. That could be a halo around his head. This could be the world’s way of making an example out of irony. Because Warner is beautiful in ways even Adam isn’t.

Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover

3. Dean Holder – Losing Hope (Hopeless #2) by Colleen Hoover

But I’m not falling in love with her piece by piece anymore. I’m in love with the whole girl. Every single piece of her.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

4. Augustus Waters – The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

“It’s just that most really good-looking people are stupid, so I exceed expectations.’
‘Right, it’s primarily his hotness,’ I said.
‘It can be sort of blinding,’ he said.
‘It actually did blind our friend Isaac,’ I said.
‘Terrible tragedy, that. But can I help my own deadly beauty?’
‘You cannot.’
‘It is my burden, this beautiful face.’
‘Not to mention your body.’
‘Seriously, don’t even get me started on my hot bod. You don’t want to see me naked, Dave. Seeing me naked actually took Hazel Grace’s breath away,’ he said, nodding toward the oxygen tank.”

Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

5. Josh BennettThe Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

The world should be full of Josh Bennetts. But it’s not. I had the only one. And I threw him away.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

6. Travis MaddoxBeautiful Disaster (Beautiful #2) by Jamie McGuire

“To douchebags!” he said, gesturing to Brad. “And to girls that break your heart,” he bowed his head to me. His eyes lost focus. “And to the absolute fucking horror of losing your best friend because you were stupid enough to fall in love with her.”

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

7. Étienne St. ClairAnna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

French name, English accent, American school. Anna confused.

Crash by Nicole Williams

8. Jude RyderCrash (Crash #1) by Nicole Williams

“The name’s Jude Ryder, since I know you’re all but salivating like a rabid dog to know, and I don’t do girlfriends, relationships, flowers or regular phone calls. If that works for you, I think we could work out something special.”

Divergent by Veronica Roth

9. FourDivergent (Divergent #1) by Veronica Roth

Who is he when he isn’t Dauntless, isn’t an instructor, isn’t Four, isn’t anything in particular?
Whoever he is, I like him. It’s easier to admit that to myself now, in the dark, after all that just happened. He is not sweet or gentle or particularly kind. But he is smart and brave, and even though he saved me, he treated me like I was strong. That is all I need to know.

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

10. Will CooperSlammed (Slammed #1) by Colleen Hoover

“So you keep your ocean, I’ll take the Lake.”

Yes, I KNOW these are all guy characters’ names, but I just can’t help loving them and their names! What are your favorite character names?

Review: Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams

Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams

Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams
Series: Lost and Found #3 (full reading order below)
Publication Date: September 16th 2013
Purchase: Ebook • Paperback

There’s tortured. And there’s Garth Black.

His life has been a constant carousel of tragedy and disappointment, including his love life. Of course, applying the term “love” to Garth’s conquests is a gross misuse of the word. Some people were made to give and accept love, and others weren’t. Garth Black redefines the “others” category. He’s made a vow that the day he meets a woman who could sucker him into falling in love will be the day he runs away.

Garth’s plan has one flaw. What happens when he’s already fallen hard for a girl before the warning signs and red flags go up? What happens when the love he’s avoided his entire life brings him to his knees? What happens when Garth Black lets the dirtiest four letter word he’s ever known into his dark, lonely life?

This cowboy’s about to find out he can control some things, and he can’t control others. Number one on the what he can’t control list?

Love.

You have no idea how excited I was to read Garth Black’s story. Finding out he was getting his own book made my life. And although I took me a while to get around to reading it, I’m so glad I finally did! Since the summary doesn’t reveal the girl Garth falls head over heels in love with, I’m not going to either in my review :). If you’ve already read the first two books in the Lost and Found series, you can make a good guess as to who the girl is. I was hoping it would be her, and yep! It was!

Garth. Black! This dark, bad boy. *grins* I adore him. He doesn’t believe in love and goes out of his way to ensure her never falls in love. And what do you know? He falls so hard. He stole my heart in Near and Far, and he definitely made swoon a bit in Finders Keepers. He’s just so gosh darn CUTE! I love how within that jerkish, bad boy facade, he’s a total sweetheart and he’s got a heart of gold. He’s also sarcastic and facetious, and occasionally I wanted to throttle him because he’s too hard on himself. He sees himself as trailer trash, not worthy of the girl he loves, but in reality he is. He’d give anything and do anything for those he cares about, and even though there are only a select few of them, he gives his whole heart for them. And how can you not love that?

The romance is a slow build-up of tension and longing and desire from both Garth and the girl he loves. They’re the town sweetheart and the boy from the wrong side of the tracks! Their love is sweet and heartfelt and so freaking romantic that I totally excused the slowness of their romance. It did get pretty slow during some parts of the book, where Garth keeps putting himself down, and not going for the girl he loves because he thinks she can do better than him. NO, Garth! You’re perfect! You’re sweet and kind (when you want to be), and you have nothing to be ashamed about. *Sighs*

So the girl who this dark cowboy falls in love with? She can totally hold her own against him. Any girl Garth is going to fall in love with has to be tough and awesome. And she is. She sees right through Garth’s bad boy facade, and she’s just so cool every time Garth tries to push her away, because she won’t let him. She takes action on her own, and Garth can’t do anything about her except fall even more in love. This girl is perfect for Garth, and they’re perfect together.

God, Garth is such a sweetie. I just love it when book boys who are players/jerks show their sweet side, because it’s even more special. They never open up, show the real them, except to the girl they love. *swoon* And Garth is the ultimate bad boy jerk, but then when it happens to him, when he falls in love… It’s just too adorable.

And we get to see Jesse (MY LOVE) and Rowen! So great reading about them again!

I just love this series. It’s cute boys and cowboys and sweet romances, so what’s not to love? I highly recommend this series, and Nicole Williams’s other books, the Crash series, too! She writes the best book boys (JUDE and JESSE and GARTH) with the best romances.

A 3.5 at some parts where it was slow, but overall it’s a 4 🙂

4-hearts

Top Ten Books On My Fall 2013 TBR List

Finders Keepers by Nicole Williams

1. Finders Keepers (Lost and Found #3) by Nicole Williams – I am absolutely dying to read this right now. I have in on my kindle just waiting for me, and I’ll get to it when I have time to read. Even though I desperately want to read it, I know this book will just make me TOO distracted to do anything else LOL. But GARTH!! ❤

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – It’s Rainbow Rowell!! I just adored Eleanor & Park, so I’m SO excited for another book by her. And it’s about a fangirl! I can totally relate.

United We Spy by Ally Carter

3. United We Spy (Gallagher Girls #6) by Ally Carter – It’s the last book in the Gallagher Girls series! *sniffs* But I know Ally Carter won’t disappoint me. I just can’t believe this series is coming to its end so SOON!

Bold Tricks by Karina Halle

4. Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy #3) by Karina Halle – Can’t wait for this book because even though I was MEH about the second book, I still loved the first, so I’m excited to see how the trilogy ends, and where Ellie, Camden and Javier end up.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

5. Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth – ANOTHER final book in a series! And this one is one of my all time favorite series, so I might end up tearing up. We get Four’s POV in this too!! AHHH!!! <4

Trust in Me by J. Lynn

6. Trust in Me (Wait for You #1.5) by J. Lynn – OOHH it’s Cam’s POV of Wait for You! I just loved Cam, he was such a perfect book boyfriend, and now that we get his side of the story… YAY!

Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout

7. Sentinel (Covenant #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout – Wow, I didn’t realize there were SO MANY final books on this list. (I think there might be some more after this too…) But yep, Sentinel concludes the Covenant series and Alex and the gang’s story. I’m super excited for what will happen, because I know that something is gonna go down in this book. And of course there’s Aiden!

Champion by Marie Lu

8. Champion (Legend #3) by Marie Lu – Yep, another final book. I am so freaking unbelievably crazy for this to come out, because that ending in Prodigy? NOT COOL. And I want more June and Day! (BTW isn’t that such a gorgeous cover?)

World After by Susan Ee

9. World After (Penryn and the End of Days #2) by Susan Ee – Oh gosh, oh gosh, I don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for this book, but I thank the stars that this book even EXISTS. Because I was dying at the cliffhanger of Angelfall. I’m praying for Raffe and Penryn to have a HEA… but I’m pretty sure Susan Ee likes to torture her readers.

Crash Into You by Katie McGarry

10. Crash into You (Pushing the Limits #3) by Katie McGarry – And this is… NOT another final book, because guess what? There’s going to be MORE Pushing the Limits!! *fangirls* I’m SO excited for Isaiah’s story!! And I TOTALLY knew that the girl he would fall in love with would be a girl who was a car fanatic like him. And even better, she’s a good girl, which is perfect for bad boy Isaiah!

So what books are on your fall 2013 TBR list?
