Cammie Morgan has lost her father and her memory, but in the heart-pounding  conclusion to the best-selling Gallagher Girls series, she finds her greatest mission yet. Cammie and her friends finally know why the terrorist organization called the Circle of Cavan has been hunting her. Now the spy girls and Zach must track down the Circle’s elite members to stop them before they implement a master plan that will change Cammie—and her country—forever.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate this series and all that Ally Carter has given us.

Let’s go through a little bit of history together shall we? I started this series back in 6th grade, probably around a year after the first book came out. I was just getting pulled into the Contemporary, and Teen genres, so I was instantly hooked. I immediately fell in love with Cammie Morgan, and the thought of a spy academy. I don’t even know where to begin to explain my love for this series; how about, as I was walking to the check-out line at Barnes & Nobles, I got tears in my eyes? Yeah. I also went completely out of my way to buy the book the 2 days after it came out, and finished it in approximately 1 1/2 days

This book was the ultimatum. The conclusion of everything. The end to my childhood favorite series, the end to E V E R Y T H I N G. I was both ecstatic and sad.

I absolutely have no words. This book had everything. Action, love, suspense. I LOVED IT AND I MISS ALLY CARTER AND CAMMIE SO MUCH. There were so many twists and turns, and Carter has you flipping your mind back and forth, thinking, “HOLD UP. HOW is that even possible. What is even happening.” Cammie was so badass, and that increased my love to be a spy… not that that’s going to happen anytime soon, but hey, a girl can dream okay.

When Cammie “reminisces” about the academy in the end (if you read the book you UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ARE QUOTATION MARKS), I was sobbing uncontrollably. The way that she describes each secret tunnel, each stairway, each door, makes me tear up. I’ve been so immersed in the series that as she was looking back at the academy, I truly felt the same emotions that she felt. The heartbreak, the nostalgia, and the TEARS. OH GOD THE TEARS. She’d describe one tunnel, and her mind would flash to a time when she used it, which causes my mind to flip back to that book from two years ago. Ally Carter does such a good job with bringing in all of the books in the series, and somehow connecting everything together.

SO MUCH ACTION I literally can’t even begin to explain. Like actually, from the very beginning (it was such an epic opening), to the very very end, there was action.

I’m going to miss this series so very much.

P.S. Sorry for an INCREDIBLY late review. School got the best of me.

6 HEARTS.

I can’t believe the Gallagher Girls series is over. I just never expected it to come… so soon. I always kind of thought that this series would never end, you know? It’s been going on for so long (7 YEARS!!) that I never expected Cammie and the gang’s story to finally come to its conclusion. But I honestly could not have hoped for a better ending than the one Ally Carter gives us with United We Spy. It was everything I expected and more.

I still remember lil ol’ middle schooler me going into Target and seeing this kickass book about girls who are SPIES, and thinking, Oh gosh, I have GOT to read that book! And can you believe this was back in 2006?!? I was still just a kid back then when the first book released, and now I’m only a few months away from turning 18 and the Gallagher Girls series is ending. It’s like marking the end of my childhood. And I couldn’t help but feel just a little bit heartbroken after finishing United We Spy. The series has been with me for so long, and it was like saying goodbye to a childhood friend.

Let me first start by saying that I LOVED this book with all of my heart. It was absolutely incredibleAlly Carter goes all out and holds nothing back, and if you haven’t read this yet, you are in for the ride of your life. Page after page is full of intense action, stunning revelations, unveiled secrets, and, of course, a sweet, heartfelt romance (can’t forget about that!).

It’s Cammie’s senior year at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, and Ally Carter does a wonderful job of writing about Cammie’s anxiety for the future. It’s her last year of high school, of attending a school that is, for all intents and purpose, her home. And she’ll be leaving pretty soon. To what or where, well, who knows? She has no idea what’s in store in her future, whether or not she’ll even have a future. The Circle of Cavan is still after her, and Cammie and Zach and Bex and Liz and Macey all take their futures into their own hands and… well, you’ll have to read and find out!

The best part about this book was the fact that everyone has grown up. Cammie is an adult now, and she has to make adult decisions. She has to take everything seriously now, because there are no tests anymore. It’s the real world, with real bad guys, and sometimes it’s a matter of life and death. Her gang looks up to her, so Cammie’s choices don’t just affect her, they affect everyone she loves. But she grows to learn that she can handle taking charge, that she can handle anything she sets her mind to do. After all, she is a Gallagher Girl.

“What is a Gallagher Girl?
She’s a genius, a scientist, a heroine, a spy… a Gallagher Girl is whatever she wants to be.”

Catherine, Zach’s mother, is a fascinating villain. I hate her, but I just love how well created her character is. To have her as the mother of Zach… It’s pretty crazy, because she’s pretty crazy. We find out some pretty heavy stuff about her, none of which i ever expected. So be ready for some SHOCKING twists!

And Zach… *sighs dreamily* Well, United We Spy is the most romantic book, in my opinion, of the series. 😉 Cammie and Zach love each other. Their love is solid and still going strong–you know it and you can feel it. Zach is perfect for Cammie, because he sees her, the real her, even though she’s the Chameleon. With these two, you no that no matter what life throws at them, they’ll make it to the end.

I was nearly in tears at the end of the book. Because… it’s over. *cries* The Gallagher Girls series is well and truly over. But the series ends so perfectly well that there’s nothing I wish would change about ending.

If you bought a copy of United We Spy, then you know there’s a special little extra at the back of the book. And OH MY GOD, it is THE. BEST. So go! Buy the book. Read the book. You won’t regret it.

5 hearts! It’s now one of my all-time favorite books ever.

*I WILL NOW COMMENCE MY SPOILERS HERE SO BEWARE*

A Gallagher Wedding! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! It was so bloody amazing (channeling my inner Bex here). Even though Cammie’s mother and Mr. Solomon play only a little part in the book, I am just fascinated with them and their relationship. I don’t even know why, but I know I was SO SO happy to read about their wedding.

Plus! Zach! In a tuxedo!! *faints*

*END SPOILER*

Bold Tricks by Karina Halle

4. Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy #3) by Karina Halle – Can’t wait for this book because even though I was MEH about the second book, I still loved the first, so I’m excited to see how the trilogy ends, and where Ellie, Camden and Javier end up.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

5. Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth – ANOTHER final book in a series! And this one is one of my all time favorite series, so I might end up tearing up. We get Four’s POV in this too!! AHHH!!! <4

Book News, Weekly Recap, & Upcoming Releases! {4}

It’s FOUR!!! *fangirls*

Ally Carter’s upcoming book is coming SOON!! AHH!! SO excited for it! It’s the very last Gallagher Girls book, so even though I’m happy to read it, I’ll still end up being sad once it’s over. But while we’re waiting for United We Spy to release, here’s Chapter 1 and 2 on Ally’s blog! And here’s the book trailer:

Jessica Sorensen has told us the release date for the sequel for Breaking Nova is February 4th, 2014! Super excited for it, since I really enjoyed Breaking Nova (read my review here).

And OMG! OMG!! Ilona Andrews has a new snippet for Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels #7)!

Sooner or later you’ll break,” he said.

“Keep hoping.”

“You’re a survivor. Voron put you on the edge of that cliff again and again until he conditioned you to claw onto life. You’ll do whatever you have to do to survive. I’m your only chance of getting out. At first you’ll balk, but with every passing hour my offer will look better and better. You’ll convince yourself that dying will accomplish nothing and you should at least go out with a bang. You’ll tell yourself that you’re accepting my offer just so you could stick that [redacted] sword into my chest and feel it cut through my heart. Even if you die afterward, the fact that I’ll stop breathing makes your death mean something. So you’ll call me. And you’ll try to kill me. Except you’ve been three days without food and that body…” He tilted his head. “That body burns through calories like fire goes through gasoline. You’re running out of reserves. I can put you down with one hit.”

“That’s a cute story.”

He tapped his naked chest over his heart. “This is the spot. Give it a shot, Kate. Let’s see what happens.”

You can read all the snippets so far here.

AND there’s a new snippet for City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare! (You can read more stuff on her tumblr.)

a rune, hovering like an angel: a shape like two wings joined by a single bar

What does it mean?? I’m honestly excited for the book, but I have no idea where Cassie is going with the series or how she’s going to end it.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.

Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence…and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

Nothing ever happens in Norway. But at least Ellie knows what to expect when she visits her grandmother: a tranquil fishing village and long, slow summer days. And maybe she’ll finally get out from under the shadow of her way-too-perfect big brother, Graham, while she’s there.

What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip. Nor did she imagine boys going missing amid rumors of impossible kidnappings. Least of all does she expect something powerful and ancient to awaken in her and that strange whispers would urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle on a summer sojourn in Norway! And when Graham vanishes, it’s up to Ellie—and the ever-sarcastic, if undeniably alluring Tuck—to uncover the truth about all the disappearances and thwart the nefarious plan behind them.

Deadly legends, hidden identities, and tentative romance swirl together in one girl’s unexpectedly-epic coming of age.
